From the The Big Breakout blog, where author SnufflesTrading notes how gold’s behavior hasn’t been behaving in a traditional manner. Gold would normally move in the opposite direction of stocks, but right now it’s up about 7.3% for the year so far, while the S&P 500 is up around 5%.

The blogger maintains “gold is telling the world something” right now, and seems to be among those who don’t quite buy all the market enthusiasm right now. “I believe that gold is hinting that the market is very overvalued. As the market has inflated up, gold has also risen (a lot) and is up year to date in 17’ more than the SPX,” he said in follow-up comments via email.

“After the election and 2016 longs were unwound, gold has come back to a fair value and silver is leading the charge. This is very positive price action...”

Nrc. The climate for investment in Mexico for the next 4 or 8 years is not what it was. Social, political, economic upheaval are all possible if not likely. FRES has all its mines in Mexico!

Interesting and thought-provoking piece in today's Money Morning about the rates of Chinese gold production and overall net acquisition by central bank and others.

Anyone have views on what is happening with FRES these last couple of days. Very quiet on that thread. But we are seeing a significant, hopefully short-lived, drop this week, while the G&S spot is moving genarally up.

I mentioned yesterday .. it's brilliant to see FED jawboning only lasting a few hours instead of weeks and months not so long ago.

To me that is a silent but very loud signal their credibility is cracking and fast

Dollar starting to turn down at long last. 100.80 down 1%. Falling like a stone!

So now is the chance for the PM's to press the glass ceilings applied by the cartel - $18 for silver, $1240 for gold.
