I mentioned yesterday .. it's brilliant to see FED jawboning only lasting a few hours instead of weeks and months not so long ago.

To me that is a silent but very loud signal their credibility is cracking and fast

Dollar starting to turn down at long last. 100.80 down 1%. Falling like a stone!

So now is the chance for the PM's to press the glass ceilings applied by the cartel - $18 for silver, $1240 for gold.

Oh, I recall alright SG. I didn't act as it didn't look to me possible to be such a downturn post Trump. Which meant I missed out on many more HOC shares than I (still) have now.

Wasted time too but the economic realities were never in doubt once the manipulation got out of the way.

March silver futures prices closed nearer the session high and closed at a three-month high close today. The silver market bulls have the overall near-term technical advantage. Prices are in a seven-week-old uptrend on the daily bar chart. Silver bulls' next upside price breakout objective is closing prices above solid technical resistance at $18.50 an ounce. The next downside price breakout objective for the bears is closing prices below solid support at $17.00. First resistance is seen at this week’s high of $18.09 and then at $18.25. Next support is seen at this week’s low of $17.73 and then at $17.545. Wyckoff's Market Rating: 6.0.

Thanks for that anecdote Friendzarin. It will not be isolated to Las Vegas.

I'm sure plenty of Home Depots etc. employ seniors in much the same way the B&Q and Wickes chains do in Britain, or the Bricorama, Mr. Bricolage stores do here in France, even though they are allowed to still retire earlier than most Western Countries - save Greece!

The key is 'available for work' and if you are such after one year of 'looking' you get taken of the leading headline statistics of employment data and will only be found under M6, which correctly counts all who are looking for work.

Apparently, 93m Americans or 23% of the workforce are employable and looking...

Top

Went to L V last year and was surprised how many older (and I'm senior) guys were in the workforce. Not sure what that means. Hope it's for positive personal reasons but suspect it certainly looked more like for the job rather than as a calling.

She blames the labour force participation number on an aging population, which is only partly true of course.

Plenty of older folks are also in the figures because they have to work to top-up measly pensions and benefit provisions. Oh, and a good few are like her and hogging a job beyond retirement. I guess she could retire? Would be nice.

Dollar Extends Longest Winning Streak Since 2012 As March Rate Hike Odds Surge

Following this morning's soaring inflationary and retail sales data, and following Yellen's hawkish tone yesterday, March rate-hike odds have soared from below 25% to over 40%. The Dollar Index is extending its recent winning streak on this move - now up 11 days in a row, the longest streak since May 2012.
