I have found, over the years, that I reliably make far more money by backing my own judgement and ignoring analysts and financial institutions than I ever did by taking their 'advice'.

As others have pointed out, Soc Gen may have ulterior motives. Bankers, Financial analysts, (and I'll throw in lawyers) - leopards don't change their spots even if they are caught out once in a while.

So Soc Gen says AZN should be worth about £100b and GSK about £65b, i.e AZN should be worth 50% more than GSK. Does these guys have any common sense? How can they have any credibility with their clients and justify their fat pay with analysis and recommendation like that?

See that Soc Gen issued a target price of 7600 for AZN today.... with the 1300 target for GSK I would like to see how both figures were arrived at .....sees a tad far fetched to me.

Only one up in my own too. However decided to halve my holding, had grown to almost 60% of pf. Love the divis but felt uncomfortable with so much in one stock and good time to make use of years cap gains allowance
