thanx bb .looks like going to hold for bit longer to see much upside although i still feel alan davy might be a bit cautious on his outlook (possibly guided by pc ).getm have built from 0 t/o to 60m euros and ebit of 4.8m euros over just 5 years.looking forward potential is huge here if buissness model can be rolled out in other european countrys.
i think the bit about competition is over stated this is a huge market .
just walk in to any town and we see phone shops everywhere .
there is another advantage here as getm has no presence in town centres so no rent and rates so they can offer the best deals at lowest price.

Get mobile - that's what investors want

Thursday February 9th 2006

IT has been an interesting six months for Getmobile Europe, the online mobile phone reseller which was effectively floated on London's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) and the fledgling IEX in Dublin last year.

Chaired by serial entrepreneur Pierce Casey, Getmobile was created after Fitzwilliam Capital changed its name following a €65m fund-raising.

For shareholders who took an interest in the stock at close to the 95c level, Getmobile has been a bitter disappointment to date.

An unexpected profit warning in October based on sluggish sales in the company's primary German market saw the shares collapse to 55c, and they later tumbled to 35c.

From a high of 100c to a low of 35c in the space of a few months marked a pretty sharp downturn, even for an IT/telecoms company.

Since the decline, there has been some positive news emanating from Getmobile culminating in a cautiously positive trading statement last week.

Getmobile predicted a 20pc growth in 2005 EBIT on FY2004. It was encouraged by the satisfactory revenue achieved in Q4 and by the sustained increases in contracts sold throughout the quarter, despite contract delays, cancellations and the underperformance of some new sales channels.

The company ended the year with cash balances of €6m and no debt.

So where do we go from here? Getmobile intends to announce audited final results on March 29.

Looking further out, the company seems to have put its plans to roll out its business model across Western Europe on hold.

Certainly competition has increased in its home (German) market with multiple retailers like ALDI entering the frame, and this is where management needs to focus.

Davy analyst Alan Daly feels that Getmobile performed well in the last quarter, demonstrating its ability to generate good earnings, following such a poor Q3.

However, he notes that with "limited visibility, increased competition in the market, slower than expected channel build-out and additional investment at the operating level, it is prudent to revise downwards our 2006 and 2007 numbers".

Getmobile has 'talked the talk' - the question now is whether it can 'walk the walk'.

Apologies, you're absolutely right. Also the PLC costs will be offset a little by interest on the €6m cash.

It does make the company look much better value.

Mr Daz...re post34...

I think there is confusion here! You talk of page 29 income statement costs....I believe these ARE included..it is PLC costs which are excluded...I think/hope you will find PLC costs are far less!...

Anyway, we will see in due course!

Still looking very attractive imho...

Good luck all!

Getmobile (Add, Closing Price EUR.45)
Trading update for quarter ended December 31st.
Analyst: Peter Gunn
Getmobile yesterday released a trading update for the quarter ended December 31st. It noted strong performance after disappointing sales in the prior quarter. The management was buoyed by the performance, especially as it materialised in spite of the underperformance and cancellation of some new sales channels. The company estimates that EBIT will increase by 20% on the EUR3.97m achieved in 2004, and ahead of our forecast of approximately 7%, with cash balances of approximately EUR6m.

Thanks for the hint to the website. I found the acquisition document, link

If you scroll down to page 29 - income statement. Costs for Wages & social security come to 1,412,430.66 + 192,624.09 = 1,605,054.75. Converted to Sterling @ 1.45 gives costs of about £1.1m. While I don't know if costs have gone up or down, it's probably prudent to assume they've increased in 2005.

Think that management are massaging the figures a little by quoting operating rather than pre-tax profits, it obviously shows them in a better light.

Would need to have more evidence of growth this year for me to invest now, brokers note, guidance etc but it does look like there is good growth to come, so will keep an eye on them.

Getmobile with strong Q4 2005 finish
Previous close: 45c Analyst: alan.daly@davy.ie
Getmobile announced on January 31st that trading in the final quarter to December 2005 was "strong and with a solid
increase in contracts sold over the corresponding period last year". The company anticipates EBIT for the year to be
approximately €4.8m after plc costs, or 20% ahead of the same period last year (on a like-for-like basis). Getmobile ended
the year with cash balances of approximately €6m and no debt.
The board said in the statement that it was encouraged by the satisfactory revenue achieved in Q4 and by the sustained
increases in contracts sold throughout the quarter, despite contract delays, cancellations and the underperformance of some
new sales channels.
We believe that getmobile has performed well in the last quarter of the year and has demonstrated its ability to generate
good earnings, given such a poor Q3. However, with limited visibility and the 20% growth in like-for-like 2005 EBIT,
management believes that our FY2006 EBIT forecast will need to be reduced. The shortfall in EBIT is expected to be negated
by a lower-than-expected 2006 tax charge.

Hi

Without getting bogged down in guessing what the Plc costs are or for that matter ignoring them, my own interpretation is that on a like for like basis profits were 20% higher than 2004 figures and that this is a pretty decent result given the profit warning in October 2005.

I was also very impressed with the liquidity and strong cashflow self evident with closing balance of Euro 6m.

So, we have to wait until 29th March to get detailed figures which will clarify the Plc costs.

The statement concluded by saying,

"Getmobile anticipates further growth in both revenues and profits in 2006"

and I for one am quite happy to add to my position at approx 50% below the placing price of July/August 2005. As PC rolls out the business model into other European countries, which he has experience with Fayrewwod, I believe he can substantially grow revenues and profitability.

daz yes your right but the spread will put many of this and also very lightly traded in uk.most likely to see spike either way but if you looking to buy i sugest you quikly build your position and wait few months to be re-rated.
i would like to see some evidence of replicating buissness model in other european countries that where real growth can be achieved.we might be looking back in several years and think if only i bought more at 30p(multibagger in my opinin).

Just having a look at these. The profit figure quoted in the statement is '...before interest, tax and Plc costs'. If you allow for 30% tax and a guesstimate of 1m in central costs and convert to Sterling - I make that a profit of around £1m, with EPS at around 1p for 2005. If you assume profits of €6m in 2006, I get EPS of 2p on the same assumptions.

While the directors have been buying and there is a good chance of a recovery in profits this year and further out, it doesn't look an obvious bargain to me.
Glad to hear though if somebody thinks I've got my calculations wrong.

Cash +, 20% growth at around 4.7m with more predicted. Germany economy on the rebound people more then willing to trade up their phones, expanding business model out. These results should give institutional investors great confidence in investing in the share (especially when a lot of them paid significantly more then the current share price in the placing).

getmobile europe plc ("getmobile")
Trading Update Period ended 31 December 2005

getmobile is pleased to announce that trading in its German subsidiary, getmobile AG, in the final quarter to 31 December 2005 was strong with a solid increase in contracts sold over the corresponding period in 2004. Given the poor trading experienced in the third quarter to 30 September along with contract delays, underperformance of some new sales channels and cancellations which affected Q4, the Board is encouraged not only by the satisfactory revenue achieved in Q4 but also by the sustained monthly increases in contracts sold through October, November and December.

As a result getmobile AG anticipates that earnings before interest, tax and Plc costs for the full year to 31 December 2005 will be approximately 20% ahead of the Euro3.97 million reported for the year to 31 December 2004.

getmobile ended the year in a highly liquid position with cash balances of approximately Euro6m and no debt.

Getmobile anticipates further growth in both revenues and profits in 2006. getmobile intends to announce audited final results on 29 March.

Thanks everyone for replying.......glad to have company.

maksud - Yep, been on the site a few times but my German & Dutch aren't any better than yours.
The deals do look good when translating back into £'s and I believe contracts are normally over a 24 month period.
I'm unsure if they will target the UK market at some point and think the Full Year statement & presentations will be pivotal to future ratings and prospects.

They had intimated that they were to move onto the French market in Nov 2005 but as yet I've not seen any evidence of this on the "tv" web site (possibly looking in the wrong place,or GETM have targeted the French service via a different medium).
Then again they're probably just concentrating on maximising sales/profits in existing markets for the year ended rather than the added distraction of opening up further markets if this is indeed the case.
Anybody have any additional info ?

At this time I haven't contacted the company directly, current shareholding doesn't warrant it - just yet - however if things are indeed back on track following a positive update then I would certainly be seeking clarification on future strategy/growth prospects as I'm sure we all would.

Anyway, here's to a good trading update this week.
Good luck everyone !
