Transfer of own shares out of treasury and Rule 2.9 announcement - relevant securities in issue

EDP announces that it has today transferred 90,000 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") out of treasury pursuant to the exercise of options by an employee at a price of 45.5p per share.

Following the transfer, and in accordance with Rule 2.9 of the Takeover Code, the Company confirms that it has 12,700,976 ordinary shares of 5p each in issue and admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's market for listed securities under the ISIN GB0003101523.

The total number of voting rights in the Company as at 10 March 2017 is 12,700,976.
