Hi topvest. Well, only a month to results and they did have some acquisition projects under review. They just said there was unlikely to be any contribution this year, but with only 4 months left when the results come in, there could be some talk of more specific negotiations underway that might take effect in 2007/8. I'm quite looking forward to the numbers. I can see them being quite good even if RedwoodsDK has had weakish trading.

Yes, still here! Not the most exciting of shares, but lets hope it comes good one day!

What's going on here , then? 1p up yesterday and 1p up today with no trades showing. Looks like they could be trying to tempt sellers out to fill a buy order, perhaps. I noticed there has seemed to be a bit more traffic to the websites for a month or so but it could be part of the normal seasonal pattern and may not be significant. I think the couple of ticks up after flatlining for so long may be, though. Anyone else here? Topvest?

Total businesses for sale now 2394 compared with 2297 a couple of months ago, not that this means a great deal.

225k X-trade gone through at the 45p offer!? Perhaps things are not as bad as the warning suggested. I wonder if the weak summer may have been affected by great weather and the World Cup. Seems unlikely but lots of businesses have been.

Yes, there is not much point selling since the MMs marked us well down before anyone could do so. Might as well hang around for a while. The cashflow hs been good so far so things should progress reasonably anyway, but that supposes that the UK economy does not deteriorate, but smaller companies are not making very nice noises in the second half of this year and it may be a while before things improve.

Yes, a bit disappointing today. Looking backs at the finals they didn't say much about Redwoods Dowling Kerr and so I suspect that this has been under-performing for a while. Oh well, you win some you lose some. I will stay put for the time being and see if they can turn things around here. Not good news though!!

Oh dear. Profits warnings suggests less than last year, so perhaps 3p earnings now. There should be a massive cashflow boost from Kings, which they say is doing okay, so I will hope for good progress on the debt front, but I don't like the way the reasons sound somewhat like UK recession setting in - more bad debts and this:

Tighter bank lending requirements and more
conservative business valuations have contributed to the reduction in the number
and speed of deal completions. Buyers' interest rate fears and the Chancellor's
major announcement on nursery sector funding have also affected the market.

I wonder why a 3k buy ended up a T-trade, and why the price went up. Anyway, successive days trades is exciting for DIP - never mind successive rises!

Hi, topvest. It takes a little digging to see there could now be some value in the shares, and as I said earlier, that is only really since the latest acquisition. It is not that it is deeply hidden. It's just complete ignorance by the outside world and directors getting on with their plan that are happy with that at the moment. It is remarkable how the shares have been at more or less the same price since they floated a few years ago, which is a reflection on the optimism and vision the directors must have had back then. That looks like it may change soon, in my opinion, in that they have done enough deals to move the shareprice forward given the increasing turnover applied to existing overheads of the new office. That doesn't rule out any more, of course. I find it odd they have had no tipsheet/site coverage given they often go for the acquisitive types, given a good plan and provided dilution isn't badly affecting holders. That funeral director chain, Dignity, springs to mind as a similar sort of model. They got quite big but must have started out small. I'm sure DIP can quietly get on with it.

They could do with a name change!

Possible names:

1. Upford
2. Risingford
3. Notadipinsightford etc.

Even the ticker DIP doesn't really inspire confidence.

Good to see someone else buying here. It looks like there was a big sell coming through after the results that caused the dip in the price. Dipford are certainly building a class leading position in their niche sector. Could be interesting in a couple of years. I'll have a look through the annual report when it arrives to see if there is anything of interest. This company could do with a bit of PR at this stage to encourage further interest in their shares.

Another tick-up. Little every now and then will do. This is positively exciting compared to the historical track record of movement. :)

Hi, topvest. You are no longer alone. No - not aliens. I have bought in today. I have had an eye on this one for several months but tended to think it was expensive although they seemed to be making decent progress. The latest Bruce acquisition has been a big step in expanding the business and was making it look reasonably priced until the recent dip. I have taken advantage of the dip to buy in, although have had to pay over the odds. It is criminal that you can't buy a decent amount at the already wide spread, but I suppose I paid less than I would in preceeding weeks and also less than many shares that were issued at in recent placings so I shall not dwell on it. I rather like that the results showed only a few months for Bruce & Co and that the next full year will have a few £100k extra on the operating profit, taking it through £1m, and pretty well backed by cashflow. This makes the £5m or so market cap look ungenerous. Hopefully a slightly higher price and an odd further acquisition will improve liquidity in the future.

EGM result today. The fact that they needed this authority in place before the AGM suggests to me that another deal is close.
