Good news, Serpico. CRC should be well placed to exploit additional opportunities through its contacts in DRC.

Thanks Stemis.
Also feel that change of emphasis to SA HQ is good news.Forrest a very estblished robust group....would hope that labour issues not likely to derail production ramp-up.

On 26 February CRC confirmed that it was on schedule for original September-October start of Kinsenda operations.

Have they completed the dewatering of kinsenda? Suppose to have done it by Feb but the comments in the placement RNS said they were 'on schedule...near completion' (dated Feb 28)...

Would be nice if they can get Kinsenda up and running by their target date of Sept/Oct.

Would also be nice if we could have that feasibility study that's due as well.

Unless today's fall is a shake on light volume ahead of news?...wishful thinking may be.

Maybe a few people selling some CRC in order to top-up with WTI which looked even cheaper after the share price reaction to yesterday's news (and is less risky IMO). I certainly thought about it but was too slow unfortunately :-(

Who knows - volumes have been pretty small.

pinhead..as you've not posted here since Feb hoping you're alive and well, wondering if you're still keenly invested in CRC and if so have you had any contact with management of late. Hope to hear from you.

Just what I was thinking this morning, Serpico.

But then ACU and WTI haven't been given much of a lift from the strengthening copper fundamentals either ....yet.

Surprised this hasn't pushed £1 with copper shooting up and JORC resource statement imminent.

Just a reminder of the reply I received 12/2 in querying Hinoba progress.....

"The work we have done to date, including drilling and evaluation, has been JORC-compliant only some of the evaluation was made by an independent consultant. The resource estimate that we were working on is now going to be made completely JORC-compliant by a full review, including site visit (as required for JORC compliance) by a top-ranking independent consultant, which will take 5-7 weeks, depending on consultant availability. We'll issue the fully compliant JORC resource statement as soon as it is available."

If they're running to schedule, if, then anytime soon we should be receiving this important RNS.

I don't think CRC would 'entertain' a bid for a while yet. Its still early days in the exploitation of MMK.

Copper price seems to have recovered strongly and stocks are on a downward path. Once CRC starts producing I would expect the price to move up rapidly.

drewz..well noted. Would be surprised if our DRC set of three didn't attract at least one major, if this analyst is correct in his claim, although to be fair only one of these is 'approaching near term production'.
Any approach would certainly be given serious thought..the MOU at Hinoba with Nanjing & Glencore serves to illustrate their readiness to deal in the right circumstances..certainly promises extra share price action should it materialise.

Interesting commentary from a JP Morgan commodities analyst on Bloomberg.

In a nutshell he was saying that the mining majors will from now on be looking at junior miners, particularly on AIM, with confirmed projects approaching near term production as prospective acquisitions to boost their reserves, rather than mid tier producers as has been the case in recent years up to late 2006.

Particular emphasis will be on Nickel and Copper projects, where demand is expected to outstrip supply for "decades" as China and India rapidly industrialize their agrarian economies.

Augers well for the stock price of companies like CRC.

I hope shareholders and the board will politely decline all overtures until the price is well north of 200p.
