27/12/2014 17:44 | It does show the importance of a well run transport business. Something Connect has been doing for centuries... I do wonder what were the underlying problems: Wages? Scheduling or sorting inefficiency? Debt? Or perhaps lack of size? Be good to know, I may have a hunt around... | edmundshaw
26/12/2014 15:39 | Good points Jeff. I noted all that and agree, and had missed that Connect Group currently imposes a fixed fee covering fuel costs; thanks for that - clearly beneficial at the moment. | edmundshaw
26/12/2014 13:01 | A competitor gone to the wall:- Obviously you feel sorry for its employees especially at this time of year but I guess positive for Connect? Customers included Amazon, M&S, Argos and John Lewis. On a separate tack the oil price reduction seemingly good news for Connect. Risk Factors from the recent Rights Issue mentioned "Connect Group currently imposes a fixed fee covering fuel costs" (whereas Tuffnells adds a variable fuel price supplement) IMS 14th Jan so an update on all activities then. | jeff h
17/12/2014 14:44 | Rump placed at 157p, so the offer promptly drops to 150.5. I've bought a few. Not as many as I would have liked (I spent a lot of my spare cash on MARS this morning) but rude not to really. Thank you. | lord gnome
16/12/2014 07:14 | It looks like a good choice. | micos
15/12/2014 20:27 | Yes, full entitlement. | speedsgh
15/12/2014 20:13 | I did too and even bought some additional rights. | drdre
15/12/2014 19:07 | Has anyone taken up their rights? | micos
02/12/2014 10:43 | Yes, about breakeven. Marginally better at this exact moment. Should have 2 rights for every 7 shares held... | edmundshaw
02/12/2014 10:02 | you now have your original shares, and some nil paid rights shares - so roughly breakeven on yesterday. check your share account | markie7
02/12/2014 08:36 | Of course it is | markie7
02/12/2014 08:11 | Is the fall today the result of going ex rights, I wonder? | rhubarbcrumble
25/11/2014 10:23 | This one keeps surprising me; just as I think I should sell it surprises to the upside. Then I console myself with the dividend it produces and hold. Ah well, I'm in for 3/4 of my rights so we'll see how it goes til April. (Holder since 2010) | sogoesit
24/11/2014 21:50 | Sliced a few myself too. Getting more than that in new shares on the rights issue anyway, so would be rather overweight... Sorry we didn't bring the price down for you, lordship. Did our best. :-) | edmundshaw
24/11/2014 21:45 | Sold into the rise myself. Nice decent gain. Looking for a decent re entry once the IC froth evaporates. | fangorn2
24/11/2014 20:03 | Short term noise that I could have done without edmundshaw. 165 would have been a very nice entry point, but that tip in IC could end up costing me a trade. I hope nobody will mind too much if I hope for a pullback to let me get in. | lord gnome
24/11/2014 09:31 | Nice rise on the tip. But I expect some will use the opportunity to slice a few, given the placement will make them overweight otherwise. All short term noise unless you want to buy, slice or trade. | edmundshaw
21/11/2014 16:28 | Am back here today at 172. Very pleased so far. Superb day. | markie7
20/11/2014 20:20 | One of my favourite stocks has just got more popular :-). I think this acquisition is tremendously good having listened to the webcast and read over various documents, plus just on instinct. Earnings enhancing yes, Tuffnells looks a great business on its own never mind the synergies and the underlying growth of the sector. And As we diversify more and more from newspapers and magazines, it becomes more and more obvious this group justifies a higher rating,. and certainly not a rating appropriate to a cash-generative but dying industry. | edmundshaw
20/11/2014 19:26 | Buy Rec in the IC tomorrow. | 18bt |
