Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride") has today received two notifications from M & G
Investment Management Limited on behalf of Prudential plc, the first advising
that, effective from 25 November 2002, the interests of Prudential Staff
Pensions Limited and The First British Fixed Trust Company Limited are now to be
included in the shareholding disclosures made by M & G Investment Management
Limited on behalf of Prudential plc.

The second notification is issued in accordance with Part VI of the Companies
Act 1985 (as amended) advising that the total notifiable interest of Prudential
plc (which includes the interests of M & G Group Limited, M & G Investment
Management Limited, M & G Limited and The Prudential Assurance Company Limited)
in the ordinary shares of Chloride is now 30,288,295 (12.20%).  This includes
5,422,000 shares which are also included in the notifiable interests of Deutsche
Bank AG as third party managers relating to the interest of Prudential Staff
Pensions Limited.

This compares with Chloride's announcement made on 4 April 2002 of the interest
of Prudential plc in 25,200,386 (10.17%) Chloride ordinary shares.
