    Notification of Interest in Shares under Section 198 Companies Act 1985

Brammer plc was notified, on 9 December 2005, by Essex County Council Pension
Fund is a limited partner in the UK Smaller Companies Focus Fund. As a limited
partner the Essex County Council Pension Fund has the following interests in the
ordinary 20p shares of the Company as at 7 December 2005:

#1675.5m of which Brammer PLC constitutes 0.006% (approx #10,053). The
underlying shares in this pooled vehicle are in the name of L&G's custodian,
HSBC.
