Very reassuring to see such a strong performance in such a weak market. There must be someone bidding hard for stock (alot of stock).

And sellers number 34,243 against buys at 8554. (taking advfn's figures)

Out of the 8554 buys there were 25 buys each of 100. Looks strange.

I stumbled across this blog:

It has been set up by Peter Harrison, Innovation Manager at BrainJuicer and appears to be dedicated to writing about developments in the application of Behavioural Economics and neuroscience to advertising and marketing.

Interesting piece on some work being carried out by Kraft in this area to support a marketing campaign. I suspect BJ are consultants on the project.

Thanks longshanks. I hadn't checked what they had said this time last year.

I think this update is very much in line with what I was expecting.

We have confirmation that US business is surging along and also an update on new offices in Italy (Milan) and Singapore.

I wouldn't read too much into the caviat on the year-end business prospects as they gave the same conservative line last year. Profits are geared to the second half and forward visibility is still a bit of an issue because projects come in and are delivered in a relatively short time span making it difficult to give firm predictions on how things will take place in the critical period that is their 4th quarter trading.

Price weakness is perhaps to be expected at this point. We have a large holder of stock who gained them in lieu of their loan to JK last year. They are generally feeding stock to the market to meet demand and I suspect this could be part of a deliberate campaign led by the company to improve liquidity. There is however some risk that market demand will slow and this holder may decide to dump shares at lower prices. However I suspect that if the price weakens too much institutions will be buying up any overhang and therefore I am still confident enough to continue buying stock myself.

"And at this stage we believe we are on track to meet market expectations for the year."

Don't like that bit as it suggests that at a later stage they think they might not be.

Otherwise all very reassuring. But wish they had worded that sentence better.... unless they really are doubtful and are giving an early hint. By doing that it should stop the shares running too far ahead so that a minor failure to reach profit targets shouldn't see the share price take a big hit.

Could easily be reading too much in to a few words.

Lots of buys going through without increasing the price. Looks as if there is a batch for sale at about the 300 mark.

Anyway despite that we have some very encouraging news. This company is nothing if not ambitious.

BrainJuicer Group PLC

13 July 2011

Press Release 13 July 2011

BrainJuicer Group PLC

("BrainJuicer" and the "Company")

Pre Close Trading Update

BrainJuicer, the innovative, international online market research agency has today released the following half year update on trading. The Company's interim results will be announced on 13 September 2011.

BrainJuicer has delivered continued sales growth during the first half of 2011, with overall revenue about 25% ahead of the same period last year. The Board are particularly pleased with sales growth and product acceptance in the US, the world's largest and most competitive market for market research.

We have continued to invest in our people, products, Labs, marketing and systems, and average headcount in the first half has grown to 115, from 79 in the first half of 2010. Our new software technology platform, developed over four years at a cost of GBP1.6m, is being gradually phased in.

In the first half of 2011, we opened a fourth US office in Atlanta to cover the southern region and complement the existing New York, Chicago and LA offices. In Q3 we will be establishing a satellite office in Singapore to support the existing China office and in Q4 we will be opening an Italian office in Milan with Letizia Leprini (formerly a senior manager within the Ferrero Group) as Managing Director.

The Board expect BrainJuicer to make further progress in the remainder of the year. Our profits are weighted very much towards the second half, and in particular the final quarter, and at this stage we believe we are on track to meet market expectations for the year.

No idea. But there were plenty of tweets.

It was actually billed as a "HumanitarianFest" rather than "InnovationFest" but the format appears to have been roughly parallel to their others - only this time the sponsor was UNICEF and some of the contributors to the day spoke about innovating in the arena of charitable giving.

Good to see another respected poster on this board Cambium. Are you invested here or passing through?

There will be videos in due course - I am sure.

BrainJuicer are co-hosting another of their InnovationFests with UNICEF on 5th July in Geneva.

You will be able to follow it using the twitter hash tag: #genFest

I imagine this will follow the same format as the recent one in Toronto but with more local presenters.

A bunch of new videos have been deployed on Vimeo covering the recent TorFest in Canada.

This one is the presentation made by Alex Batchelor covering the fundamentals behind what BrainJuicer's tools do. It is a little bit familiar - with annecdotes common to previous presentations but his style is definitely improving and he appears to have mastered the technique.

---------------------

The increased trading frequency seems to be continuing with some small trades presumably linked to dividend re-investment mixed in with others. The trend is looking fantastic for continued rises and whilst we have someone feeding stock into the market to match demand I suspect we will continue to see strong gains in the run up to the interim results in September.

Or just more people waking up a bit late. Insignificant (now ex Director) share sale.

As you say the trading update next month should be interesting. Thanks again for all your posts.

What is causing all the interest?

Lots of small trades today coupled with liquidity suddenly improving. Is there some share tip out there?

There are some new interesting client quotes on the BrainJuicer website such as this one from the VP of Human Resources for Powderject Pharmaceuticals.

"Brainjuicer is the best way I know of securing rapid feedback from my workforce fast enough to respond in real time. Response rates are higher than any other approach I've experienced. I'd recommend this approach to any HR professional who needs a rapid, cost effective approach to testing the temperature of their organisation."

Interesting because this is feedback on a service that is not from their traditional market research activity.

As I hypothesised a while back - I see alot of scope for the company's tools to be applied for applications such as these. These quotes are the first direct evidence I have seen of this and how successfully they are marketing them. It should make for an interesting trading update in July.

It is even less significant than that. The purchase last week and the one made today were done off-market and were simply the company buying shares back that were awarded through options.

Employees are highly motivated to perform for this A* company - far more than at other, lesser agencies.

BrainJuicer have issued a video promoting the benefits of working in their type of MR agency.

The generous share options given as part of the remuneration is also a good way of attracting the very best talent.

Woozle - I hardly think that the purchase of 4329 shares by the company has been a major issue in the recent rise. The number of shares they hold in Treasury has not changed for quite a while and a very good investment they have proved to be too!

Those polls count for little. The question you have ask is, which research firm are you most likely to use in the next 12 months and which would you most likely recommend and I bet you that BJU would barely feature.

Surely, you Mr Lonshanks with all your knowledge about MR would appreciate that!

And BTW, I'm v happy in YouGov: great brand value, v low EV/EBIT, sub market margins (i.e scope to improve) and loads of cash. I know it's not exciting but the first rule of investing is margin for safety and there seems little of that in BJU. If

And now we know why the share price has had such a strong bid: the company has been buying the shares!
