Decided to dump my shares @ 228.5 and take around 12% profit plus dividend. Long term i'm sure it will work out but need the cash elsewhere.

Wonder how much of this is already priced in or could we see a significant drop when the results are released?

Balfour Beatty is expected to announce annual losses of up to £260m and a suspension of the final dividend this week, as new chief executive Leo Quinn lays out his plans to tackle troubled contracts and turn around the beleaguered construction firm.

The new boss has undertaken a forensic inspection of the whole of the business since joining in January and could use Balfour’s full-year results to recognise an additional £200m in losses, according to City analysts.

“We would not be surprised by £100m to £200m of contract provisions, relating to further prudence in UK construction and a fresh assessment of the overseas business,” said Joe Brent, from broker Liberum.

A review of about a fifth of the business by at the start of the year uncovered a £70m hole in the accounts, the overall impact of which the City has struggled to quantify. Analyst forecasts range from a pre-tax loss of between £60m and £260m to the end of December, down from profits of £32m in 2013.

“We recognise the fact that Balfour is not yet out of the woods in terms of profit warnings, and there is still a chance that 2015 may contain a nasty surprise,” said Sam Cullen from broker Jefferies.

p>LONDON (Alliance News) - Jefferies has raised Balfour Beatty to Buy from Underperform and its price target to 270.00 pence from 115.00p, saying that will new management installed and a turnaround underway, it's looking to 2016 and 2017 profits to drive its valuation.
"Applying recovery multiples to our 2016 and 2017 estimates implies a price target of 270p, hence we upgrade our rating to Buy. Though construction risks remain for 2015, we take comfort in the group’s GBP1.3 billion PPP portfolio and the incoming management’s LTIP," it writes in a note to clients.
Jefferies says the company is well set to fix the internal problems that have plagued the business over the past 18 months and "ride the wave of construction market recovery in the UK and US".
"We believe Balfour should refocus its attention on the infrastructure projects on which its heritage was built. In our view, larger, more complex projects have fewer bidders, higher margins, are lower risk and help to attract and retain top talent. Moving from the vicious circle of the last 18 months to a virtuous circle will be key to the turnaround," it says.
The broker says it realises that Balfour isn't out of the woods yet in terms of profit warnings and 2015 could yet contain some nasty surprises. However, the scale and strength of the group’s PPP portfolio gives it some comfort, and leaves the remaining businesses trading on 5.1 times 2015 EV/EBITDA, an undemanding multiple in its view.
"In terms of LTIP, our base-case estimates imply the new CEO stands to pick up just 61% of his final award in 2018; some investors may wish to be more optimistic," it adds.
Balfour Beatty shares closed at 227.40p on Friday.

BALFOUR BEATTY IN JOINT VENTURE FOR THAMES TIDEWAY TUNNEL
Balfour Beatty in a joint venture with BAM Nuttall Ltd and Morgan Sindall Plc has been chosen as the preferred main works tenderers for a section of the new Thames Tideway Tunnel.

The tunnel will be the biggest infrastructure project ever under taken by the UK water industry and will ensure London's sewerage system is 'fit for purpose' by preventing millions of tonnes of sewage pollution from being discharged into the tidal River Thames every year.
