Shavian,
Where did you get this hostage news from?

And now we have a hostage situation in Kinjor village. About time we had an RNS on this and everthing else. At least DR was a reasonably good communicator, and he also put a lot of effort into good community relations with the locals. I'm not confident that MNG has the same set of proirities, and this local discontent may be the result of new attitudes by the new management. If so this could be very bad news for the project - the history of mining in Africa (and anywhere else) shows that good community relations are vital to the success of the mine. Let us hope that MNG get this sorted quickly.

Or at 0.02515p !! Admittedly that only allowed me to average down such that I need an share price of approx. 5.6p in order to break-even.

They are stockpiling ore ready for when the process plant and tailings dam are fully ready. Given the steady improvement in gold price, particularly in Sterling terms, the longer they take the better - at least in my view!

Does anybody think the recent takeover by the Turks may have resulted in delays getting everything operational again, as a result perhaps of a delegation turning up to inspect the Business and its Operations, with a view to stamping their mark on everything ?

Not surprising given to lack of info about current progress.

Best case the good gold price will offer an extra boost when/if they announce everything getting back on track.

Until then it is hang and hope......

Mining, where every little job turns into months of lost production, I wouldn't mind if mining was a new industry, yet we seem to have newbies at this mine.

Ihowie, you were very unlucky with your timing on this one. Sometimes u can buy in and it steadily moves up in price and it seems easy and other times it drops like a stone!! You did well not too bail out with such a huge drop....i bought in at 5p so not in a bad position if things start moving and they start production again! To be honest they have had allsorts of bad luck.....surely they are due some good news now :))The share price could move up quicky here with POG enter a bull run!

This share has been a nerve racking experience for me, bought in at 20.20p, within a week it dropped to 3p & felt physically sick, I have now averaged down against my better judgment and now in at 12p, getting board of the lack of communication as this should have started up by now. Long term potential is great specially if you got in at 3p.

Bought in here today guys! Strange that the share price seems to be stuck fast with all the buys on the last few days. Anyway looking forward to hearing the operation is up and running again very soon :))

A comment from the MARL update..

"On an operational note, at both the Hot Maden and Ergama projects, there is no impact due to recent disturbances in Turkey. Operations are continuing normally without interruption at the project with all rigs turning in order to meet the joint ventures planned milestones."

One might expect MNG group to be looking for a London quote to maintain some sort of credibility and stability.
Can anyone think of a way of doing this?

An interesting chap...judge for yourself.

'Mr Erdogan owes much of his political success in the past decade to economic stability, with an average annual growth rate of 4.5%.'

personal comment..
I've been to Turkey a few times and am absolutely stunned at the speed and efficiency at which large infrastructure projects are completed.
