12/2/2015 12:08 | Pleased to see a tick up, i believe the fall has been well over done and should recover to around the 30p mark again. | battlebus2
11/2/2015 16:18 | Yes, I bought 25,000 earlier @ 23.08p. Still can buy for 23.2p. | dan de lion
11/2/2015 15:32 | As is often the case, looks like most of the "sells" today are "buys" , eg from 10.30 onwards. This is my impression, based on trades data which is publicly available for free. | m4rtinu
10/2/2015 17:46 | Thanks Rivaldo, hopefully the end to the down trend :)) | battlebus2
10/2/2015 13:49 | Good to see you here bb2. Latest forecasts are now historic 2.26p EPS, with 3.44p EPS this year. The 0.25p and 0.3p dividends respectively are helpful too. | rivaldo
10/2/2015 11:38 | Ive been buying a few this morning, looks cheap to me and should recover long term. Dyor etc. | battlebus2
09/2/2015 11:04 | I see the date for new nuclear power keeps getting pushed back! In the meantime this freezing weather and no wind must be good news for ALK! Also taken from the trading update:- "After accumulating these adjustable items we are expecting a contribution of circa GBP1.5m from these items in addition to the adjusted profit before tax. There were a number of operational issues in the last few months of the year which have impacted on profit before tax. The upgraded capacity at Wheldale and Shirebrook were commissioned two months later than expected, and there were fewer than anticipated calls from National Grid under the STOR programme. We had 29 calls under STOR in the last quarter of 2014 (last quarter of 2013: 66 calls). As a result adjusted profit before tax for the period is now expected to be between GBP3.25 - GBP3.5m." Does this mean that the total profit before tax is 4.75 to 5million? | dan de lion
06/2/2015 08:44 | Thanks for the article FB - obviously, the business will have its ups and downs but I see a strong medium to long term future here. | spaceparallax
05/2/2015 15:12 | Today: Red letter day Woohoo! ALK goes up by 0.12p not bad for a company generating electricity, in an electricity starved market, from waste gas. I am only down 44% !! "This time next year Rodney, we'll be millionaires!" | roddyb
03/2/2015 09:10 | Folder - some salient points in that article. Whilst I like Alkane as a company and currently hold -bought at 30p a week too early :( - , some of the business they have done is not great. EG " ... exceptional items are likely to run out rather lower than anticipated at a net £1.5 million. This is largely due to including the 18 per cent holding in Egdon Resources at the current price share price of 9.375p rather than at the time of the shale assets sale when it was 27.5p. ". So a bit like me, though a sell not a buy!! On the other hand: " ... though prices have been weak for the latter part of 2014, Alkane has managed to lock in a much higher proportion of this year’s output than it did before (as at December 31 2014 82 per cent of 2015 output is contracted at an average price of £52/MWh). It has even managed to get 30 per cent of its 2016 output sold at £51/MWh. " Good, but ... "The current electricity price [is] £43/MWh." Not great in the medium term. Thanks for posting. Was looking to buy some more, so will keep watching. | m4rtinu
31/1/2015 14:29 | Are you brave. Is it time to start thinking about picking up some bargain oil stocks now?? The February challenge (oil stock competitions for February) is now on, Good luck! p.s. The results for the January competition will be posted this weekend via this link | flyingbull
31/1/2015 14:00 | Is their electric not presold? Btw, check my previous post | 123qwer
31/1/2015 08:11 | Let's hope Mr. Nat Grid keeps a knocking, dan. A really long-lived high pressure over Greater London would be just the ticket :-) I'm afraid that .gov's under the counter bribery to build gas fired plant may cut our revenue. I must check how much supply there is now. apad | apad
30/1/2015 19:55 | Filtering the facts about directors buys is like sticking your head in the sand and praying the bad news will go away. IMO, substantial director buys with their own money is usally a clear sign of confidecne, go on check the directors buys DYOR ATB | 123qwer
30/1/2015 08:38 | Nice cold spell, ALK`s generators on overtime? | dan de lion
29/1/2015 20:00 | 123qwer 29 Jan'15 - 19:11 - 7012 of 7012 0 0 There are very few posters on my filter list as I usually enjoy hearing both sides to an investment case, with a little banter at the right time. There is now another one. Well done | pj 1
29/1/2015 19:11 | A bit more research, lol Go on and see directors holdings DYOR and GL | 123qwer
23/1/2015 13:57 | Thanks ohi. But that still leaves me thinking not a source of rev. At least in sht to med term. | m4rtinu
23/1/2015 10:51 | Isn't that just what share prices always do? News follows price... | investopia
23/1/2015 10:46 | Nobody seems to be asking why the share price dived the day before the trading update! | dan de lion
23/1/2015 10:35 | ONE FACTOR people are forgetting. The generating companies are now deciding to extend old plant. nuclear plant given 10 year reprieve only couple of days ago. alk is supposedly benefitting from a scarcity of gen. capacity? | angus17 |
