21/2/2014 09:25 | Interesting I bought into Aga when a friend who has two properties and old Aga in that flooded in 2012 said he had ordered two of the new electric Agas to replace them. I then looked into Aga in more detail I like what I saw in terms of a recovery play. It is certainly the rural locations like Somerset where there will be a lot of Agas but my understanding of the floods is the total number of houses actually flooded (oppose to the spectacular images of an inland ocean) is not as great as you would expect. Some of those riverside Thames houses will likely have an Aga so it will undoubtedly help. Another wind behind Aga's back event. | mark10101
21/2/2014 08:09 | Surprised that the market has not reacted to all those flood damaged units! | eggbaconandbubble

09/1/2014 15:42 | Paul-Butcher1999, Delayed reply to your point regarding Chinese copies. I work in the appliance industry, I've known and dealt with the Vatti company possibly even longer than AGA have, almost ten years and I see the risk of Vatti setting up to copy AGA as very small. In fact, it is more likely to be anybody but Vatti, competitors of theirs would be more likely candidates. It isn't just the AGA product that they're trying to market in China, it's the Rangemaster range cookers as well. A large part of the attraction to wealthy Chinese is the Made in UK label, although I know of examples of Chinese products under European brands being sold in China as European. All of this is in a market where oven cooking is completely unknown, so potential customers aspire to a European lifestyle. | trigger blade
09/1/2014 15:20 | Well, been re-shaken again rather than the recovery I predicted, pathetic volume though so not really yielding them much. | mark10101
09/1/2014 09:44 | Looks like a bit of fishing for stops in that 5 min drop. Got a sneaky feeling this could turn blue this afternoon if we get a strong open to the DOW as now suggested. | mark10101
07/1/2014 07:42 | TPT like for like up nearly 10% this Q - sounds like kitchen refurbs and sales may be stronger than many expect imo. CR | cockneyrebel
05/1/2014 21:15 | I have been in AGA for the good run up, I have set personal targets where I would review and possibly exit, but as time goes on targets pass and the news improves. I then take a step back and questioned if it is not worth staying in for the long haul. If China takes off as you say the multiples from here could be very attractive. | mark10101
05/1/2014 19:41 | Agree, Mark..win win situation for AGA, but do hope China proves to be a Stella success for the company..in which case, who knows what multiples the share price could be in a couple of years time...;0) | gymratt
05/1/2014 19:10 | Paul, I agree it is absurd but that is what they do and the life of the rich does become a bit absurd, especially the Chinese. hxxp://www.bbc.co.uk I see little risks of copy cat AGAs, the only question for me is if AGA can get on the must have list of the Chinese rich, if they do we could be in for a very interesting few years. If the Chinese story is not that great I still see good times ahead for AGA as existing owners upgrade to the new models. | mark10101 |
