18/10/2016 20:22 | Question you need to ask is how much of the £4m will find its way into the directors pockets via salary, bonuses, free in the money options. My bets at least half of it .... talent costs dontyaknow ..... | ramas

18/10/2016 08:16 | @waltoncats. It does not surprise me. The press are notorious for not letting facts get in the way of a good story. I am reasonably hopeful that the application will be approved, with conditions, because many of the objectors more 'technical' objections, eg. radiation, are weak. I do not believe that the planning committee will turn the application down unlesss they feel that they have very good reason to do so. I see no sign of such reasons in the officers' recommendations. Both the officers and the committee will be very aware that if they do turn it down without good reason, their decision risks being overturned on appeal. | daijavu
18/10/2016 00:36 | @daijavu I was one of the experts consulted, and I can assure you I said no such thing to the residents as reported. Nor did I take any money for giving advice. | waltoncats
17/10/2016 14:34 | The local residents may not be very happy about it but that is not a reason to refuse permission. imo. We'll find out tomorrow. | someuwin
17/10/2016 14:30 | someuwin, you wouldn't say that if you lived in the Muse. | waterloo01
17/10/2016 14:19 | Can't see any legitimate reason why the council won't grant planning permission. | someuwin
17/10/2016 14:14 | Yes noticed that timing too ! As I can't have any offer shares, I decided to get a few today as a good result in the meeting should send the share price in to the foothills, at least, IMO. | luminoso
17/10/2016 13:54 | Told you they would roll out Dame Bab's. If you want to understand the residents objection, see the letter they all signed. Suspect they will fail, but will get concessions that will take more time/money to work around. Regardless nice of them to have the decision before shareholders have to decide if they want to take up the offer. | waterloo01
17/10/2016 13:52 | Daijavu>> I agree and the residents must be massively dissapointed. The Council want this to happen because its an officer recommendation to accept. The relevant members would have had a pre meeting with officers to determine whether to recommend or not. For planning members to go against an officer recommendation leaves it wide open for a successful appeal. Only the applicant can appeal. | twirl
17/10/2016 13:26 | I was struck by this in the article: "Experts contacted by residents have commented that insufficient information is in the public domain in order to be able to comment on either the viability or safety characteristics of the proposed technology.” That can be translated as; The 'experts' contacted by the residents know nothing about the technology and cannot be bothered to find out but are still happy to take the residents' money without providing a professional service. | daijavu

15/10/2016 11:28 | Thanks metis20 but I'd already read it. It doesn't seem to give the closing date for accepting the offer. At any rate, not clearly enough for me to see it. | daijavu
15/10/2016 10:36 | From today's Daily Mail: Advanced Oncotherapy hopes to bring in up to £4million of fresh capital in an open offer of shares priced at £1 each. The fund raising is part of a larger financing plan 'supported by banks and strategic partners' and helps the company tap into a £24million facility provided by the private equity group Metric Capital. The cash will be used to bankroll the manufacture and installation of Advanced Oncotherapy’s ground-breaking LIGHT proton therapy machine in Harley Street, bringing the cutting edge cancer treatment to London. LIGHT, which stands for Linac Image Guided Hadron Technology, is cheaper and smaller than the current units, which are almost prohibitively expensive. The LIGHT system has the ability to propel protons at the speeds generated by much larger machines. The proton accelerator used by Advanced Oncotherapy was licensed from CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, which is currently hunting the 'God particle' | pyglet
14/10/2016 20:48 | Does anyone know the closing date for accepting the offer? | daijavu
14/10/2016 20:27 | TW gets them right and gets them wrong. But to be fair I think he called the funding story on this correct. I obviously misunderstood. I thought the offer might be bigger. Glad it's out now. Once a few people sell their their offer shares, then we should move up. And who knows maybe our new F-E "angel" investor will be happy to mop up any that get dumped. Harley St PP go ahead would be great news too....assuming. | gerhart
14/10/2016 20:03 | He's irrelevant. Just a trader who along with his associates have ramped and deramped this and many other shares. | twirl |
