Solara Exploration Updates Recent Drilling Activities

August 10, 2010. Solara Exploration Ltd. ("Solara" or the "Company") (TSX
VENTURE:SAA.A) (TSX VENTURE:SAA.B) is pleased to update its recent and current
drilling activities in the Dewberry and Pembina areas of Alberta. The Company
operated the drilling and completion of two new oil wells at Dewberry with
combined initial gross oil production of 60 bbls/d. Solara owns a 100% working
interest in both wells. The Company has recently drilled two more potential oil
wells on the project which it plans to complete for production within the next
week. It will also commence the drilling of the final well of the recent seven
well drilling program at Dewberry within the next several days. Since August,
2009, Solara has drilled nine oil wells on the Dewberry project.


The Company is also pleased to report that it recently commenced drilling of a
horizontal well on a Cardium oil prospect located in the Pembina (Buck Lake)
area of western Alberta. Solara will report on the results of the well once they
are finalized.


Solara also advises that the Company's Board of Directors has approved the
granting of 500,000 stock options to officers, directors, employees and
consultants of the Company, subject to regulatory and TSX Venture Exchange
approval. The options were issued with an exercise price of $0.25 per share and
have a five year term with standard vesting provisions.
