Ginger Beef Corporation Voluntarily Recalls Pre-Cooked Products

Ginger Beef Corporation, (TSX VENTURE:GB) a Calgary-based company specializing
in Asian food manufacturing, has voluntarily recalled its pre-cooked products
and shut down the entire production line to undertake a complete wash-down of
its facilities following the discovery of possible Listeria monocytogenes
contamination. The company is currently working with the Canadian Food
Inspection Agency (CFIA) to address any possible contamination.

"Ginger Beef Corporation takes the safe preparation of our food products, and
the health and safety of our customers, very seriously," said James Leung, Vice
President of Operations for Ginger Beef Choice Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Ginger Beef Corporation. "We follow all government requirements for food
handling and have a comprehensive food safety program in place across our
operations."

The Listeria monocytogenes was found during a routine facility inspection that
takes place on a monthly basis. As soon as the sample was found, the company
alerted the CFIA and took steps to address the possible contamination.

"In undertaking the voluntary recall of our pre-cooked products and shutting
down our facility, we are exceeding CFIA regulations for these circumstances,"
explained Leung. "These are precautionary measures taken to protect the health
and safety of our customers."

Ginger Beef Corporation is working with its retailers across British Columbia,
Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario to pull the products from shelves.
The CFIA is monitoring this voluntary recall. Production is on hold pending the
receipt of favourable results of 10 consecutive production tests conducted by
the company and the CFIA over a 10 day period. This is the first incident in the
company's 30-year history.
