Ginger Beef Corporation (Listed on the TSX Venture Exchange - Stock Symbol "GB") Announces Recall of Product

GB (the "Corporation" or "Ginger Beef") (TSX VENTURE:GB) announces that it has
voluntarily recalled its ready-to-eat Special Combo described below because the
product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.


The affected product, Ginger Beef Choice brand Special Combo, is sold in a 1 kg
package bearing UPC 6 65075 22980 2 and Best Before date 2011 NOV 28.


This product was distributed to Costco stores in British Columbia, Alberta,
Saskatchewan and Manitoba.


According to the news release of The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
dated November 16, 2011, there have been no reported illnesses associated with
the consumption of this product. Also, according to the news release, food
contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled.
Consumption of food contaminated with these bacteria may cause listeriosis, a
foodborne illness. Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck
stiffness and nausea. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened
immune systems are particularly at risk. Infected pregnant women may experience
only a mild, flu-like illness; however, infections during preganancy can lead to
premature delivery, infection of the newborn, or even stillbirth.

The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

The Corporation has halted production of all ready-to-eat food products for
public consumption pending the receipt of favourable results of five consecutive
production tests which the Corporation and the CFIA will be conducting over a
ten day period.
