Nordic stocks increased Friday, with the OMX Nordic 40 Index rising 0.6%.

Frontline PLC was the biggest leader during the session, adding 7.3%, and Ambu A/S Series B rose 7.2%. Autostore Holdings Ltd. rounded out the top three leaders on Friday, with shares rising 6.0%.

Electrolux AB Series B posted the largest decline, falling 4.8%, followed by Paradox Interactive AB shares, which dropped 4.6%. Shares of NEL ASA dropped 3.4%.

In Denmark, the OMX Copenhagen 20 Index gained 0.2%, and the OMX Helsinki 25 Index, which tracks Finland's most-traded stocks, rose 0.9%.

Stocks on Sweden's OMX Stockholm 30 Index gained 0.8%, and Norway's Oslo Exchange Benchmark Index_GI increased 0.7%. Shares in Iceland increased, with the OMX Iceland All-Share PI Equity Index gaining 0.1%.

Elsewhere in Europe, indexes rose, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.8% and the FTSE 100 Index increasing 0.6% from the previous close.

Stock indexes in Asia were mixed, with Japan's NIKKEI 225 Index up 1.5% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.2%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were up 1.1%, and gold futures were up 1.5%. Bitcoin was down 5.9% to $43,455.

On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index was flat at 96.92.

Against the euro, the Norwegian krone was up 0.3%, the Icelandic krona was up 0.3%, the U.S. dollar was up 0.2%, the Danish krone was flat, and the Swedish krona was down 0.1%.
