Another week passed and no sign of licence RNS. It’s amazing rampers try and pull the same trick to try and get them out of the mess they are in.

This will be below 1p again when people realise it’s another false dawn.

It is evident that ARA mention Oil several times in their 3D Seismic analysis. So any trap that ARA drill could contain Oil. CH-1 is unlikely to because it is the same trap as NT-2 penetrates, so we know what is in it, but any subsequent traps could contain Oil. The most noteworthy mention is "Both the Karoo and Jurassic source rocks are now identified as being potentially mature for OIL and gas generation in the Mtwara Licence".
.
"Large structural and stratigraphic traps have the potential to host gas and OIL accumulations including, inter alia, a large untested mass transport complex prospect (“MTC”) which, in terms of structure and depth, closely resembles several of the large-scale offshore accumulations which await development."
.
"OIL and gas shows are noted in sands identified on mudlogs in Likonde-1 at the levels of the Jurassic post-rift prospects in the block, suggesting the bright amplitudes up-dip of the Likonde-1 well could be potential direct hydrocarbon indicators."
.
"Deposition occurred during the Early Jurassic in a partially restricted marine environment allowing additional potential OIL and gas source rocks to be deposited and preserved under anoxic conditions. Both the Karoo and Jurassic source rocks are now identified as being potentially mature for OIL and gas generation in the Mtwara Licence"
.
"The southern of the two mapped lobes is distinct as a separate prospect, but in contrast to the northern fan, the feeder channel has not been preserved potentially aiding up-dip trapping. OIL and gas shows were noted in sandstones in the Likonde-1 Jurassic interval which, when combined with strong indications of fan geometries significantly derisks these prospects."

mjcferguson, as per RNS 29 Feb:
.
Whilst APT awaits award of the Ntorya Development Licence from the Tanzanian authorities, securing the assets for development for at least 25 years with provision for further extension, the Operator continues to work on multiple work-streams to commercialise the discovery on behalf of the joint venture (JV) partners and contribute towards Tanzania's energy security. Upon receipt of the Development Licence, APT will:
.
· Contract a rig operator to undertake the drilling of the CH-1 appraisal well to further derisk the asset and, if successful, complete as a gas producer.
.
· Re-enter and repair a tubular leak in NT-1 to enable the well to be safely completed as a gas producer.
.
· Undertake further testing on NT-2, currently suspended as a gas producer, using a mobile test unit, to refine the design of in-field gas processing facilities.
.
· Continue to support the Tanzanian authorities in the early construction of a spur gas pipeline from Ntorya to the Madimba Gas Plant to accommodate gas extraction from the field.
.
.
As per the Tanzania Parliament document:
.
Until March, 2024, the works carried out include completing the interpretation of the 3D system seismic information collected in an area of 334.9 square kilometers and continuing with the preparation of repairs and well tests for the Ntorya 1 and Ntorya 2 wells .
.
In addition, the Contractor is continuing with the purchase of the Chikumbi-1 well boring plant.

The licence has to be issued and in ARA's possession at some point, that is what I expect to see at a ceremony. Whether anything needs to be signed is a moot point, as the milestone is ARA receiving the licence. AEX cannot RNS it until it is in ARA's possession, just in case anything stops it arriving, even if that is odds of billions to one against.
.
Tanzania have been telling the country that Gas is coming for everyone, they have been rapidly installing domestic gas pipelines to loads of new areas and promising loads more. That they can announce this huge Gas development licence that promises the supply of that gas to consumers is undoubtedly a huge PR win for the Government. I'm sure they will big it up as much as they possibly can.
.
Big fanfare presentation coming soon IMVHO.

I did say many times that the issue of the licence was what we are waiting on, and sure enough there it is stated in Parliament:
.
"Likewise, the Cabinet has approved the issuance of a license for the development of this Block where the procedures for the issuance of the license to TPDC on behalf of the investor (ARA Petroleum Company) are being completed."

.
In the Ruvuma Block, the work of interpreting the seismic data taken in an area of 334 square kilometers has been completed and preparations have begun for the development of the discovered natural gas
including the repair of Ntorya-1 and Ntorya 2 wells that will be used to produce natural gas and drilling of the Chikumbi-1 exploration well.

Sites in the Domain .go.tz are all Tanzania Government official websites. The below is a news item on the Tanzania Ministry Of Energy website. nishati.go.tz translates to energy.go.tz. The information must be correct, as they would not publish false statements on an official Government website.
.
.
Which in English states: "In the Natural Gas sub-sector, he said that strict management continues where under the Seventh Phase Government, a license has been issued for the extraction of natural gas in the Ntorya well in Mtwara region while the last license was issued in 2006."

So clearly it was a liar by some to say licence had been issued.

Rampers should hang their heads in shame. Knowing Tanzania government it will drag on for months and months.
