Playing out as expected....Casual investors who only skim the Financials sold off based on the FY23 numbers. But dig deeper and the huge growth potential in FY24, FY25 is evident. One only has to look at the WH Ireland updated forecasts. Huge jump to 20c+ EPS for FY25. And that's them taking a highly conservative view of only contracted revenues.

Looks like Simon Thompson pinched my thread title for his latest article in Investors Chronicle on Spectra Systems. It is quite funny when I think about

I am sure that Herald shares have been picked up by our mysterious new investor, along with plenty of others. That has helped the share price hold up very well this year. The announcement about the large order for the large CB must mean we have a beat to come and with the reader deliveries finally kicking in at the end of 2024 I think we are in a great place for a run higher as long as the small cap market in general allows it

Well PJ there are many reasons l added ....1. The dividend that has grown year on year by double digits for the last six years ..l am expecting 12 - 12.5 c this year .2. In the next two years we should have the fulfillment of sensor contract that should add an extra 15 to 20 million to the coffers added to the fact it has already been stated after the contract has been sorted we don't need the extra buffer of 5 million ... all this money could be used for extra special dividends.3. In this environment of higher interest rates... companies with no debt and cash on the balance sheet are in best situation.4. Added interest from new investors ... If you think to yourself with no news for five months;  usually this would be sitting at lows of the year not just of the highs as investors would of lost interest by now.5. Having the Fed as the number one customer should give us a premium rating which we really don't have at the moment.6. Plenty of things rattling around in the background to add value at anytime.7. I am actually much more excited that the company has been quiet over the last five months... means they are probably busy fulfilling all those contracts they have already sourced. All the talk of Nabil on proactive... was probably done on pressure from shareholders... did it really make a difference?  Also remember this is a company that deals with security of banks ... It may not sit well with the customers if it is shouted from the roof tops. On the topic of a sales team l am not sure knocking on the doors of banks is going to do much good... business is sticky and takes many years to source, which has been discussed many times before .. and we might just waste more money than we get in.I could go on and bore you with the reasons why l continue to hold and add when l am able to.

ref witholding tax

Apologies for raising this repetitive issue once again but it vcould have a positive effect for other investors here.

I have held SPSY in a few accounts including HSBC investdirect. Despite complaining twice that they were witholding 30% and not 15% they dismissed my complaints with a very long reasoning I am honest enough to admit I did not understand or have the energy to challenge.

I moved most of my SPSY to HL who only charge 15%

Anyway, I have today received a letter from HSBC admitting they have charged 30% in error (a system error which obv is not totally honest)and a refund of the 15% plus 8% interest, although they have then deducted 20% to forward to INLAND REVENUE.

I recall fellow investors here having the same issue with I believe Halifax and others? I hope this is of some use to you in your attempts to claim back any witholding tax.

What do you mean 'there's a buy note out there'?
Surely the spread is holding this back i.e. putting off retail investors?
Also apart from some fairly wild swings it's been on a 2 year downtrend.
