See the recent presentation, the replacement drilling costs on just the MCB projec are equal to the current market cap. Compare the 22 year mine life of the MCB project, AISC costs, the capex, the production rates for copper and gold against the El Domo project and one can start to get a better understanding here. One does need to factor in the 40% project ownership though.

So, I think Silvercorp won't come back for CLA now as they will need to fund the development in Ecuador.

SAGAY COPPER-GOLD PROJECT, PHILIPPINES (100%)

The approval of the Declaration of Mining Project Feasibility (DMPF) along with the issuance of the Environmental Compliance Certificate, which are currently ongoing government evaluation procedures, triggers the next stage of the permitting process leading to a mining permit that would enable the development and operations of the Sagay Project.

Total Issued Capital 2,246,051,662

Market cap at 0.75p = 16.8m GBP (not the 44m detailed in the header, ADVFN's calcs are incorrect!)

I have capitalised the key words below, 'SEVERAL INVESTORS':) These copper porphyries are massive money makers, just throwing off cash for decades.

While waiting for the issuance of a mining permit, ground activities were kept to a minimum while preparing for the pre-development phase. Included in the preparation is the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement ("MOA") with the Provincial Government Unit of Kalinga to jointly develop the road alignment for the MCB Project's access from mine site to port[2]. The Company has SEVERAL INVESTORS ready to commit the required FUNDING to develop the MCB Project ONCE the mining permit has been secured.

Well, as suspected they have got the mining permit, the first for many, many years and signals a positive change by the government. Currently up 23% on the ASX.

This was the best part of the announcement IMO.

"Over the last eighteen months, the Company has been interfacing with potential investors who have shown resounding interest in the MCB Project but have been also waiting for the issuance of the mining permit. With this now in hand, the Company will proceed with finalising funding options for the Project. "

Who wants to secure this asset? Step right up!

Floated in 2007 @24p
Delisting or take 20.5p on offer.
How to really "annoy" potential investors.

Well, legged over investors shocker. Thankfully managed to get out first thing without too much damage, slightly surprised the price held up for as long as it did.

Either

a) Shares continue to trade a discount to Nav, company trades as a zombie, years pass before re-rating

or:-

b) investors pick up on discount to NAV here and accumulate. Rise in share price self-fulfilling: technicals advertise opportunity encouraging further buyers.

re: Buy backs (One of)

1. AVAP buys back more shares in short to medium time frame
2. AVAP buys back after holders give up hope and sell-up
3. AVAP doesn't bother to buy-back at all

Obviously I'm hoping for b) and 1.

The main issues are how long are holders prepared to wait for the valuation anomaly to be resolved, and how targeted are AVAP in soaking up CLA shares? I guess my time scale would be 6 months minimum here for holding. I have no idea about AVAP's intentions but the fact they bought back another 10% of shares is encouraging.
