22/12/2006 18:14 | cashmagnet....Only investing, dont do "hopes n dreams". Zoo is currently priced at .75p old money, not the top of a spike at 20p+. It has ample funds in the bank, growing revenues, slashed costs, a world market and a protected position in a high margin niche sector......Its also so illiquid we have to be careful when buying in order not to spike the price. Not much need for hopes or dreams, just patience. | siwel100
22/12/2006 17:57 | dont get tunnel minded and sucked in to your own hopes and dreams like i did. facts are facts and you just cant see it can you because you live in hope | cashmagnet
22/12/2006 14:22 | I see that Sharecast's headline take on the news has also focussed on the same aspect: Zoo Digital considers strategic options LONDON (SHARECAST) - ZOO Digital, the DVD technology group, reported a narrower loss for the first half and said it was considering strategic options to maximise growth. | aphzombie
22/12/2006 14:16 | It simply means that in order to capitalise on the ZOOtech's range of products, it is necessary to form a number of partnerships (and at various levels) to maximise each product's potential. This could mean anything from geographic reach, to technology reach, to sales & sevices reach. I think attention is being drawn to this varying level of possible partnership options at any / all of these levels as opposed to one big headline-grabbing partnership. ZOO now have their funding, so I would suggest that has ruled out the big equity-holding partnership that was being touted in May/June this year in lieu of a number of key product/technology/g | aphzombie
22/12/2006 12:37 | Hi Aph' I did notice that but it depends on how you read it. We all have options in life but is it how we realise them that is the key. Does it mean that Robert Deri has a number of offers on the table, or does it mean that all others attempts to find a strategic partner have failed and now they have thought up some new routes (strategic options) to take. My glass is a little half empty on this one, which is unlike me. | artey
22/12/2006 12:01 | everyone seems to have missed out on the most significant sentence in the results which i believe will be the real kick-start for share price in the new year: "Outlook .... The Board is currently considering strategic options to maximise this growth." --- Just bear in mind that in the recent restructuring of The Board, Robert Deri (former Finance Director) is now occuying a new role: Robert Deri Director of Corporate Strategy Rob focuses on exploring acquisitions and joint-venture opportunities, which will drive the growth of the business above what's expected through product exploitation alone. | aphzombie

22/12/2006 11:33 | macca28....Microsoft has about 10,000 partners. Every software house in the world calls itself a partner of Microsoft. You are mistaking "partner" for some kind of joint venture or ownership. Its a simple sub license agreement for a niche sector. Zoo might even throw a few marketing quid at Interactive DV if the sales are coming in, but thats about it. I wouldnt be suprised if Zoo sub licenses into a few other areas where either returns are marginal or local/specialised knowledge is required. An obvious one would be the Indian film market. | siwel100
22/12/2006 11:27 | perhaps your right, just pennies | macca28
22/12/2006 11:24 | jacobjohn...cashflow positive is a lot more important than maiden profit. There are still writeoffs from publishing to filter through, but its cashflow thats king. | siwel100
22/12/2006 11:22 | Scotty, I will be happy with confirmation that maiden profit is on target, as waited along time in the hope of it.... Merry Christmas all, and heres to a stonking 2007! | jacobjohn7
22/12/2006 11:21 | macca28...Other than send the occasional warm body to an exhibition, it wont be costing Zoo anything. It isnt a joint company, they simply license Zoo products into a niche sector, along with other products. They make it and Zoo benefits, or they dont. | siwel100
22/12/2006 11:18 | well, i agree with you on the timescales and on your expectations, but the maiden profit is an important factor in my eyes... ie: it would be good to finally achieve one, so important to realise that the may or may not be one THIS full year... due to closures, but the cost base as compared to revenues(growing) looks good from there. | jacobjohn7
22/12/2006 11:16 | LOL probably the best rns ZOO as ever put out and all you old diehards do nothing but moan.Next year will see a new batch of investors in ZOO,and I will become the new ramping cash of old.All you old diehards will become the new derampers.Have a good Xmas one and all ;)))))))))))00 | scotty1
22/12/2006 11:08 | shh, ok we will brush that one under the carpet, | macca28
22/12/2006 10:50 | perhaps restructure is not quite complete, interactivedv (partnered and sponsored by zoo)needs addressing, must be costing zoo a packet,"world tours etc" absolutely nothing to show on their website that they have contributed any income towards the company at all. who sends the emails? | macca28
22/12/2006 10:50 | No suprises, No mass exodus this time, But no news of new deals included in results. Are ZOO holding those back for the new year me wonders? 2007 could be a vintage year for ZOOTECH. | donnydave
22/12/2006 10:36 | 2007 will come good, only alarmed that in last RNS SG comments on expected profit for full year, any newbies wont see the significance of this, but those in for 3 years, have seen and heard this before... so FY is on a knife edge IMO at present, but could drop into profit.. or the other way. But do agree that 2007 should be good. | jacobjohn7
22/12/2006 10:33 | JJ - I'm sorry you feel disappointed; I'm very pleased with results - no surprises! Clearly, they won't talk about profits at this stage - without increasing sales there won't be any! But; *ample cash now - no borrowing costs/credit interest for a change *best year ever for iDVD sales with some very successful big names and sellers *new production software and the first sales already in the bag *stronger management with an independent on the board *heavy reliance on H2 (WILL CHANGE OVER TIME) SO; cheer up mate - 2007 will see it come good The bored are selling; the bright are buying. 22/12/2006 10:30 | fair enough scotty, you did say that. | jacobjohn7 |
