03/1/2007 17:51 | There was a trading statement in late January last year. The prospect of that may inject some life into the share price later in the month. Whether there will be life after the trading statement (if there is one) remains to be seen. | ray164
03/1/2007 16:55 | Oh dear. Not a good start to the year :-( | lurker2
02/1/2007 14:35 | woolworths, w h smiths,are still keeping them on the shelves at the mo | macca28
02/1/2007 11:21 | happy new year guys, well mines all change, lets hope the zoos fortunes change/are realised this coming year. I agree macca TAS delayed is one negative from the results (it has always been scheduled for Dec). Should be out sometime in Jan hopefully. We are holding alot of faith (in zoos future) in the release and take up of TAS so we do need to see it. | jacobjohn7
01/1/2007 14:41 | Happy New Year to one and all and good luck with ZOO in 2007. Might even get my money back on this one - if they rise fourfold! | bodgit
31/12/2006 22:33 | tas was to be released in december along with some new test driven features, read the report its unofficial but, the poor guys are being worked to the bone, ;-) | macca28
31/12/2006 22:28 | macca .....which deadlines are they ? | siwel100
31/12/2006 22:00 | no matter, things are still on a tight schedule, and some deadlines are still being missed, | macca28
31/12/2006 19:58 | macca28...Nancy wrote that back in April, she is having a far more relaxed time since the restructure imo. | siwel100
31/12/2006 18:29 | better to say their pr is more truthful, december comes and goes, no sign of tas due out in december. not surprising given the very tight schedule, so to end 2006: a few words from zootechs, technical communications writer, Work, work, work My work at ZOOtech continues apace, with uphill battles all over the place to get a single source system in place to make the work of a lone-writer a little simpler. But with the business continuing to evolve, the requirements for my production change as well. Process review and revision seems constant, and sometimes I feel like I'm only doing planning to say that I've done it, since the plans often are never really fulfilled as the projects change scope and direction. C'est la vie. | macca28
29/12/2006 16:55 | their pr is better simple as, but it doesnt take much to be better does it | cashmagnet
29/12/2006 11:50 | thats crazy... maybe they are seen as a company on the up... whereas zoo have to win back the confidence first. | jacobjohn7
29/12/2006 11:01 | remember a few months ago when bright things said they were bringing out an interactive dvd game "tomb raider" the shares shot up, the game did not sell any more than some of the zoo games, "question of sport" etc well they are in the news again today and this one won't be released till xmas next year, shares have gone up 50% again today, one bloody game, | macca28
25/12/2006 00:43 | Happy Christmas one and all. | bodgit
24/12/2006 13:36 | uknighted.....lol, yep....Actually its unlikely to ever be a problem. The main cash drop this year will be from Universal via ZIV (and ziv is unlikely to go bust in 12 weeks) and Disney. The balance of income will be from dozens of companies using the software. I am sure that some of the iDVD startups will struggle as there are always winners and losers in a new sector, but income is so widely distributed that the effect of any bad debt will always be negligable. Its one of the nice things about Zoo, their income is from a widely distributed world market rather than a couple of UK customers so other than studio contracts in the early years, dependancy is minimal. Back to Santas beard and the point we were discussing, aside from contracts with major studios, the income is dependant upon unit sales by customers so will rarely appear as pre booked income, so actually it would rarely appear as loss of profit/income anyway..........cust imo | siwel100
24/12/2006 13:15 | Hello Siwel - they are very fine hairs you are splitting - are they from Santas beard? Bad Debts write offs are not only loss of profit but loss of cash also!! Have a great Christmas and here's to a prosperous 2007. UK | uknighted
23/12/2006 14:32 | IMO I dont see these figures justifying any further investment in Zoo stock at this stage....... * Turnover of the continuing business, ZOOtech, increased by 67% to #736,000 (six months to 30 September 2005: #440,000) * ZOOtech's loss before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation reduced by 67% to #396,000 (six months to 30 September 2005: loss of #1.2 million) | indomie
23/12/2006 14:14 | the rumour on the new customisation tool can now be laid to rest, | macca28
23/12/2006 10:24 | Siwel100 - "But write offs are simply paper exercises", unless they are Sales Ledger debtor balances :-) | uknighted
22/12/2006 19:52 | siwel:check out the back of this too, | macca28
22/12/2006 19:29 | The second half is going to benefit from a rather large bonus. "ZOO has retained the benefit of all iDVD titles developed prior to disposal.".......... With royalty % at a higher level than 3rd party deals, its reasonable to pencil a minimum £1m income from this revenue stream alone in the second half (it could be substantially higher) When you take this cashflow and then add in the 3rd party iDVD income + that from the existing toolset and the new TAS signups, its not difficult to see the potential for a very positive cashflow when working on a restructured £2.2m Zoo cost base. Moving to profit for the core will be pretty easy for the full year. If the finals show a gross full year profit when the first half included costs from now disposed of divisions and the second half includes some write offs from ZIV is a question mark. But write offs are simply paper exercises, its the positive cashflow that will count. | siwel100
22/12/2006 19:05 | Oddly enough I experienced the effects of the Multi-language production software today. DVD for some reason had subtitles in place on the new Disney Pirates of the Caribean film. I had to scroll through 17 languages before I could switch it off.....Included some really odd and unusual ones. Its one thing hearing that a company is using Zoo, its another to actually see it being used. Will be suprised if we dont get at least one more major US studio signing up in 2007. | siwel100 |
