Another couple of DVDExtra-powered products in the US, with more to come in 2007 from Brighter Minds:

December 5, 2006

Brighter Minds Announces New Brain Quest DVD Games

Brighter Minds Media, Inc. is excited to announce the arrival of two new Brain Quest DVD games. Based on the #1 selling Brain Quest decks published by Workman Publishing Company, the Brain Quest DVD games test your smarts with all new questions! Brain Quest DVD Ages 6-8 and Brain Quest DVD Ages 8-10 are currently available in stores.

"Brain Quest is already known as a leading educational game for children, we are pleased to offer it as an energetic, interactive DVD," said Vivian Antonangeli, President and Publisher of Brighter Minds Media, Inc. "It is our goal to extend the same fun, educational spirit of the Brain Quest brand to a whole new product format."

The games can be played with any standard television, DVD player and remote – from the living room to any portable DVD player! They are fully animated and feature cartoons, audio and text clues, and 6 mini-action challenges. Each game also includes a mini Brain Quest deck with additional questions created exclusively for Brighter Minds. With over 500 questions and interactive games, Brain Quest DVD Games make learning fun and engaging.

This is the first DVD Game release for Brighter Minds Media, Inc. "We are truly excited about our expansion into this new market," noted Antonangeli. Brighter Minds has two additional DVD games, Marvel Heroes and Jurassic Park Explorer, slated to release in Fall 2007

if it was a totally smooth ride then it wouldnt be a market of buyers and sellers, none of the ups and downs have a baring on where this is going.. mid/long term.

JJ - your earlier post 1549

"There has been a lot of meeting activity at zoo HQ in the last three days, culminating in a complete board visit/meeting in London yesterday. So, one would assume something is in the offing."

That was quite a tempting statement you made there - what have you been able to base that on ?

still learning

APHZOMBIE...Sorry, the way I should have said it was that ZOO would be unlikely to publish figures from 3rd parties regarding those companies sales.
I know ZOO has income from ZIV but ZOO is now a software house, rather than publisher, hence it would be unexpected for them to publish a trading statement on iDVD sales.
Its not a negative, just likely to be part of their change to becoming a focussed software company. What I do expect is for them to highlight in the interims the hugely increased number of titles available this xmas and the positive impact on revenue in the Final results.....move into profit etc

APHZOMBIE...Dont expect a trading statement re iDVD performance. They have no access or permissions regarding 3rd party figures
---

If Zoo has no access to 3rd party figures (as you have so boldly stated), then how do you suggest they (ZOO) acquire the DVDExtra revenues, which (as we all know) are based on number of units sold ...

APHZOMBIE...Dont expect a trading statement re iDVD performance. They have no access or permissions regarding 3rd party figures (ZIV falls into that category now). I would instead look to the forward commentary on the interim results.

just got a big marketing pack from Volvo, opens up the folder and whats inside... an interactive product presentation on dvd... hmmm I wonder... the empire grows unseen (as well as the highly visible stuff) it would seem...
---

JJ, you may be interested to note that Volvo is also a client of Freestyle New Media (who also did the LandRover marketing iDVD using DVDExtra) as the following snippet from their client list shows. Suggests your hunch may be right ....

Freestyle has designed and deployed online and offline digital marketing business solutions for a wide range of organisations. Amongst others our clients include:

LANDROVER
RBS
ICI
VOLVO

INDOMIE,

H1 results for half year up to 30th september should be expected up to 3 months after H1 end, ie. december. Hence last year's H1 results (for 1st half of April-September 05) were released 15th december 2005 following full-year-end change to 31st March 2005.

Also, as Zoo still earns a certain amount of revenues from Xmas trading (both through the final year of ZIV's publishing efforts and through ZOOtech's iDVD revenues from games products) I would imagine there will also be a trading statement in mid january 07.

Jacobjohn...Its the last bad one, the last serious buying op should be in the spike down after its released (if these new buyers are as weak as they look), even then it depends how much research these new buyers have done and how strong the forward statement is.But it clears the decks and sets it up for a move to profit at Finals.
Am looking at the finals for the clear indication of the turn, after that the subsequent results will be strong against previous comparisons and also showing strong growth. Its also going to be an easier business for the market to value, with clear income/costs streams as against the mixed jumble of the past......18 months for a reasonable valuation, 30 months for the complete rerating as a growth stock.
We will soon see how much patience the spike buyers of the last few days have :)

JJ a 40% rise yesterday is a 40% rise on the current stock valuation and as such should merit a comment. You have to stop thinking of what it represents in "old money" because this is the new Zoo. It could have just gone up 1 or 2p yesterday and that clearly wouldn't warrant an announcement but 40%!! To "outsiders" the "old money" means nothing, all they would register is a 40% rise.
I do believe there is lots happening and I cant help thinking that a leak of some sort was behind yesterdays movement because logically, with Woolworths stating how poorly dvds are selling, that should have caused a share price fall.
Hey, but when did logic ever apply to Zoo's SP? :-)
