Yes a more positive and more informative RNS release, and its nice to know the company reads these bb's..And the company intends to upgrade its equipment and negotiations are well advanced in obtaining another rig...

Thats what the market needs to restore confidence..

Reference to " It is, however, also clear that as the positive results of our operations grow more apparent, the Company shall gradually increase its CAPEX in order to achieve its oil production objectives more quickly. "

Could this be trailing need for a further fund raising ? (imo) Likely -evens bet - especially given the recent weakness in POO - but if Quatar situation gets worse then POO should increase.

Results of election will probaly have significantly bigger effect.

Quiet after the update this morning? Fully approve of them upping capex and becoming more professional in their approach (my take on the rns).
See what the market thinks.

mkango, that said it had enough cash for 12 months in the june 2016 listing document, then did a placing around December 2016.

So, yep the exchange ignores it, simply because they can say that we thought we had enough cash for a year, however, we were wrong and have gone to the market for more.

Sea7,

What, like Mkango?

Yes the exchange just ignored those sort of things, so yes, they'll probably ignore the tweets as well, you're right.

I don't think they can do a placing as there is a limit per year.

I have been buying these at 8p and above.....this is a risky oil stock of course and it could go bust. We have to be realistic here. Not saying it will of course.....but punters need to accept the risk.

Rame energy RAME of a similar size did so earlier this year taking nearly all of PIRI's cash with it.

It happens.....don't bet the farm on this. It is risky and any bad news will demolish the current price.

Not being negative just realistic. Folk keep calling for news ....the news may not be good. Who knows? Don't punt in risky small caps if you cant handle big swings and potential 100 per cent losses.

Andy,

That's in the same style as CEO's that say we have no plans for a placing, only for one to show up a short while later!!!

If someone says it is going fine, it doesn't give any indication as to the end result, just that the planned drill is progressing in line with expectations, however, the outcome is unknown at this time.

It will only be a matter of time before people start using twitter in an attempt to "juice" their stock prices, with irrelevant news and then the twitter updates will be about as relevant and honest, as staged interviews.

sea7,

Well the danger is they say it's going fine and then it becomes a duster, and someone says "he said it was going fine".

I think they should only release news when it's confirmed one way or the other, as opposed to giving a running commentary.

I take your point though, and I don't think anyone takes much notice of staged interviews these days, they are so bad, and questions are obviously agreed beforehand.

I do not think that it is any different from when ceo's show up on stock tube/tip tv and other interview platforms and talk their own book quite happily. They are usually very careful not to divulge information that is not already in the public domain and considered market sensitive.

So, chatting about how well a drill is doing is fine, telling people that it has hit pay dirt Is not, when it hasn't been released through the official channels.

I do not think that you can prevent this sort of pr happening, so we might as well embrace it.

sea7,

I think the LSE should stop the tweets or regulate them. Or dispense with RNS and just let companies tweet everything out instead maybe?

You can't have both and it's subjective as to what is price sensitive IMO.

I see more and more of it now.

Official news through rns's and other non market sensitive news tweeted out.

Some people are coming over as being too tense and nervous here, which suggests some are holding too large positions or maybe over leveraged on S/B's?

They shpuld not be tweeting news IMO, they need toget on with their work and issue RNS when proper news should be issued.

Just give them time, I see the new COO as an excellent acquisition, if he can't coax the oil out of the ground, there will be a reason for that..........

And if he can, things should improve rather quickly.

Scotty they apparently still hold c.5% so selling a few above 13p is not important as it is now.

grannyboy,

Calm down, that dewalt cordless worked a treat.

That's about as efficient as you can get for 120 quid ;)

Another month and we'll have stabilised barrels of fluid per day.

people were on here bad mouthing the twitter updates, now we have a share price slide and radio silence on twitter, now people panic, because they are in the dark. Can not have it both ways.

We will have to wait at least a couple of weeks for them to announce the steady flow rate, which was indicated in the rns.

We await M45.

Those hoping to have sold out on a spike have been thwarted and are closing positions and moving on.

Boredom will set in and people will sell out to chase returns elsewhere.

Risk to the downside for me is a share price of 4 or 5p, which is where the value of the Italian assets sit. We are at 8p, that's 3.5p worth of risk for the azer assets. More upside than downside here at this level.

Well at least everyone has moved on from blaming poor old GUN for the drop in share price :) They actually did quite well to sell a few just above 13p by luck or judgement.
