In our view, any progress on this front will have a positive impact on ZIOC’s share price. Our unrisked and ungeared DCF-derived NPV for ZIOP is £4.8bn (equivalent to 600p/sh) based on a 10% discount rate and our long-term iron ore price of US$90/t for 62% Fe (CFR, China). We then make an indicative $10/t value-inuse adjustment (VIU), which reflects ZIOP higher grade. Finally, we apply a 90% haircut to account for financing and execution risks which equates to £480m (or 60p per share), representing a 500% uplift to the current share price. Given the project’s high quality and low cost of production compared with other large-scale iron ore development projects. We see the main risks to our valuation are iron ore prices and the supply-demand dynamics in light of a slowing Chinese economy." |
