26/7/2024 12:56 | Don't know too much about the eEnergy company but thought the article was interesting - they reported a core adjusted loss for H1, but did say H2 has started strongly. They've won a £5.2m contract with Spire Health - given BK's background he's missed that one?. | disc0dave46
26/7/2024 12:34 | Thanks very much Ed, I see it now. | beardinspace
26/7/2024 12:24 | Also forecast Div this year is 48p and 70p next yearSo pretty decent dividend growth starting to filter through. And that's on top of all the other growth. | sparky333
26/7/2024 12:08 | Anyway the market has spoken and 3 days of chaos, will level out over the next couple of weeks. Low spring energy prices as illustrated in the graphs I have shown clearly show the fall in energy prices but significantly up since the low in March.Company direction is growth and they are doing that way faster than any rivals. 2nd half the year energy prices are and should be higher as winter approaches so any new booking in this period will be higher. The market will make its own mind up over the coming weeks and months | sparky333
26/7/2024 12:01 | So all in all, looks like essentially he's putting it down to selling on news and is anticipating a return to a sensible price at some point.. | edmate
26/7/2024 12:00 | Here it is anyhow: I took some profits on Yu a month ago after a good run as reported here and more day before results (profit £4,733) as chances of a downturn on results day was almost certain as always. And indeed like always it did come down. But I kept the ones bought under the 500p area for longer-term. Happens to a lot of shares, wait for the comeback then buy 2-3 days later. Looks well oversold and about to turn up so my finger is hovering over the buy button at the moment. | edmate
26/7/2024 11:59 | No problem beard it's in the 'markets' section of his update on hxxps://www.nakedtra | edmate
26/7/2024 11:58 | I am trying to not get too involved in the debate as I am more of a momentum player rather than forensic research so my level of knowledge may be lesser than yours. I looked atTEP asa user a few years ago as they offered a wide range of offerings from tv, broadband, energy etc, that is why the cross referencing between the 2 can't be direct. They are not similar enough for a straight read across and tbh, I am not sure you can compare close enough without knowing the full breakdown of customer profile. In days gone by, they wanted all or nothing but that may have been the salesperson who was not transparent enough in their offering so they left out house quickly.YU. Is an energy type play so better to compare with those .. but, I still some some, but limited value in comparing the 2 from a broader interest. | hopeful holder
26/7/2024 11:53 | HHAgree it's H2 weighted but clearly growth has slowed.Have little doubt they will hit 100k plus meters but as I've said that's not really a true measure of likely income. As for profit, don't know tbh and why risk for 3% return?. Better long term plays out there IMO. Their interims in Sept will give a better feel as to the key numbers and their outlook for the year (will keep watching and could be another decent trade). The Shell deal was "transformative" given it released cash collateral but the covenants for liquidity may constrain cash availability even more - not enough info on the Shell deal for my liking. Probably the biggest red flag. CNA's | disc0dave46
26/7/2024 11:26 | Value shouldn't simply focus on a single metric but Sparky can't see beyond PE.So, forward PE's FY25 (given we are more than half way through 2024):GOOD 6.5xCNA 8.7xYU 6.9xAverage 7.4x. YU FY25 eps consensus 210p, so a TP of 1554p (minimal upside 3%).Personally given share options represent nearly 10% of shares in issue, and is likely to increase, I'd go on diluted eps forecast of 192p as per share price Angel, so a TP of 1421p (zero upside). | disc0dave46
26/7/2024 10:48 | Sparky my two faced bestie:"Anyone thoughts on my thinking when trying to compare the likes of CNA, TEP, OPUS and YU ? I do not include GOOD as focus seems to be shifting there"You can't compare YU with TEP, which you seem obsessed about. Utility Warehouse aka TEP sells energy, broadband, mobile data and insurance. Their business model couldn't be more different let alone their offerings.Opus was loss making and why dismiss GOOD?, okay it's renewable but that's the direct competition along with CNA. | disc0dave46
26/7/2024 10:34 | SparkyYou really are a two faced disingenuous individual, wouldn't trust a word you say.I posted up on LSE the DRAX info about them selling Opus Energy. So you then post up next door to try and spin the fact Drax sold Opus 90k SME customers because it wasn't profitable.I posted the below on LSE along with the fact the sale won't complete until Q3 2024."Opus Energy (Opus), the Group's SME business, was loss making at the Adjusted EBITDA level, reflecting an exit from gas supply as part of the Group's decarbonisation strategy and lower customer numbers." | disc0dave46
26/7/2024 10:27 | Edmate / gswredland - thanks for the replies! Edmate - I must be incredibly dim. On his site, I can find the table of trades only but not any of his commentary. I’d be very grateful if you could copy/paste his comments for Yu. here :). | beardinspace
26/7/2024 10:13 | Anyone thoughts on my thinking when trying to compare the likes of CNA, TEP, OPUS and YU ? I do not include GOOD as focus seems to be shifting there | sparky333
26/7/2024 10:11 | I am not saying TEP isn't a good company it is a well run outfit no doubt about it. But valuation wise either YU is significantly under valued or TEP is overvalued is the point I am trying to make when taking all the big factors like PBT, turnover, customer growth etc. | sparky333
26/7/2024 10:08 | TEP 126m ish PBT v YU 45m | sparky333
26/7/2024 10:07 | Oh we can include Drax in that who reported today so OPUS is in there and they performed horribly So out of the 4 TEP and YU are the only ones who did good numbers.TEP had a large decrease in turnover but profits up, clients up , well done TEPYU high growth in turnover, clients and if numbers hold a 9% increase in PBT to 45m v TEP 26% I think Yet TEP is valued more than 6 times higher for a profit only 2.8 times higher.Hmm yes different models but numbers are numbers | sparky333
26/7/2024 10:05 | Bloody sellers :( | moreplumbing
26/7/2024 10:00 | After seeing CNA and TEPs results I actually thought YU have done a good Job.Turnover increasing, clients increasing etc etc etc but obviously the market dis agreed And are we on a sporty high growth PE, sorry we are not 8 isn't high growth 20+ is high growth. H1 is history now and we look forward to H2 which is underway. Will YU hit the numbers ? I personally think they will beat them But that's me others think differently and none of us have the evidence to support either way. But one factor we can see develop is the energy price. | sparky333
26/7/2024 09:55 | What this has shown me is the sensitivity to weather and energy spot prices can have a large effect over a prolonged period. So I will be paying even closer attention to energy prices going forward. No one can predict the future but the patterns are there Energy prices will head higher from Sept onwards how high will depend on what winter is like ie cold or if any more supply issues are wars kicking off | sparky333 |
