Spec, they sometimes move independently of each other without rhyme or reason, very same dividend. Idiosyncratic.

Less liquidity in YNGN, only fair to say.

If both classes XD, how come one well up, one well down? Or at least, the down makes more sense than the up.

(Thanks re GRI comment @EI, one that's fallen off my radar).

Well this is disappointing, I had hoped for over £6.50, at least.

Liquidity drying up for many UK smaller stocks over this week.

YNGA is more liquid, however the % gap between the two classes of shares is extraordinary, even when liquidity is factored in.

It's more than 34% now!.

YNGN should be about to move.

34% discount for the non-voting shares.

That's not rational, particuarly given that the voting shares are widely distributed.

I notice the retail director left last week..with immediate effect.

I wonder if the City Pubs acquisition is perhaps proving more challenging than anticipated?.

As per my above post..the Non Voting shares now sit on approx 10 X forward.

Unless something untoward emerges (the recent City Pubs acquisition) - this looks very cheap ..

Could trade below £6 to the £5.70-80 type level.

May be another opportunity develping?.

The current aspect I do not like is gearing up the balance sheet for the City Pubs acquisition.

One of the attractions of Young's has been their relatively low gearing; they needed to raise cash in the most extreme of circumstances during COVID - although some additional shares also issued on their last acquisition.

Decent AGM update. The N shares in particular seem very cheap.I think the City Pubs acquisition will prove a success;their pubs bring in a younger, but reasonably affluent customer.

Yes and tbf the recent weather has not been great - that's all change now with summer arriving in the South, where the bulk of their pubs are located. Their pub gardens will benefit.

It looks value on a medium term view.

IC are more positive on the results FWIW. The debt from the City Pub Group takeover should reduce with the profit coming through. With sales up 15% on prepandemic and a summer of sporting events they point out that they are underpriced relative to peers at 968p.
Mind you they said BUY in Nov too and has fallen a pound since then!

will there be any read across from Fullers that came out with a reasonably upbeat commentary - have to hope that the summer picks up and England progresses in the footie though personally couldn't care less....

Lots of sector headwinds, yes. The recent MAB Update looks solid.

At the current SP, YNGN is under 10 X forward (unadjusted) earnings.

It also depends how the City Pubs acquisition is bedding down.

Poor summer weather would be unhelpful, if we are just considering the short term trading outlook.

Worries about increased costs and taxes after July??
Maybe for investors a reintroduction of Investment Income Surcharge From memory it as 15% on top of your top rate - So at times over 100%

It largely depends on where you see the YNGA share price going.

The last time YNGA traded at current levels, YNGN was closer to £6.

7.5% drop in last 5 days, must be worth a trade at these levels ? Or am I missing something obvious
