08/7/2008 09:01 | Randgold also tends to get sold off with the general market, unlike YAU (so far) | mad jack mcmad
08/7/2008 09:00 | Yep - Randgold is eminently more tradable, but YAU still makes a sound buy and hold in this climate. | dasv
07/7/2008 20:53 | ranglod much better in that respect - much closer spread | d s patterson
07/7/2008 20:50 | Gimme a price near the 200 day and it's time again for a long | d s patterson
07/7/2008 20:49 | Well it's shocking how the hell you're supposed to take a position I do not know. I'd understand 5p either side of the bid but this is ridiculous. I really think a few thousand will move the bid or offer with this one. | d s patterson
07/7/2008 14:05 | How do you buy these in any quantity, only given a quote for 150 online. Is this normal? | celeritas
07/7/2008 12:56 | they are just covering their behids. as it is barely traded in the UK and often jumps on open in US i think the spread is normally reduced when us and can are open after 2:30 | ukgeorge
07/7/2008 12:51 | yeah it's quiet illiquid in UK. Is spread similarly bad in Can? | dasv
04/7/2008 09:04 | still a terrible spread | d s patterson
04/7/2008 01:35 | hammer bottom on the candles today might prove a support | yf23_1
03/7/2008 18:01 | spread is terrible | d s patterson
03/7/2008 08:33 | the pm still look good and a lower oil price in general means a lower 4/oz mining cost so could be a good thing for gold producers. | ukgeorge
02/7/2008 22:37 | Well, I did warn everyone that the next leg down would be in tandem with the end of the mining shares bubble. Most of the miners down 4% today, dragging the index down instead of stabilising it. Oil will collapse at some stage as world demand adjusts to not only wasteful uses but also due to less economic activity. | yf23_1
02/7/2008 21:40 | Shame really I know people that went pretty big into things like tesco and the miners before all of this. | d s patterson
02/7/2008 17:27 | another day of stockmarkets tumbling and gold rising. :) | ukgeorge
30/6/2008 17:07 | try some of the US listed miners? | fox tail
30/6/2008 13:33 | anyone know of a more liquid lower spread gold co? eventually you get back to mining stocks which is possibly defeating the object of buying into gold stocks to start with | d s patterson
30/6/2008 09:15 | My only complaint is that it's very gappy. | mad jack mcmad
27/6/2008 19:26 | C$16.96 + 1.10 Today 7% up to now £8.41 | ukgeorge
27/6/2008 18:56 | Good to see my long term investment here coming good again...this could be the promised second break through 1000$...and way beyond...as inflation takes hold. | leedskier
27/6/2008 17:31 | I love the way people are talking about gold at $1000 or possibly $1500 if the dollar crashes in my opinion you'll need $3000 - 4000 of them to buy an ounce. And it will be more like £1000 per ounce, the way I see it when you cut to the absolute basics of investment there's only 3 things you can invest in. 1) paper based shares (dodgy when your currency's wobbling) 2) property (a bit of a money supply play and we've just had 15 years of that one) 3) Gold, silver and oil (great when the 2 above are wobbling) | d s patterson
27/6/2008 17:19 | its broken out woop wooop wooop. gold broke out yesterday and yau today they are going to lead us higher love the fact that gold has made such a good move when the stock mkts are down quite a bit this week, it helps to highlight gold to the unaware, and soon they will all being rushing to get a piece of the action. | ukgeorge
27/6/2008 16:10 | yf - what happens if the dollar tanks completely there's only two things in the world that can't be printed, copied or created from nothing. Oil and gold. It's just my thoughts there hasn't been a serious crash for a very long time could 09 be ther year? | d s patterson |
