Sorry about that, Jezzoo. I have Asitis on filter so am unable to read his posts. Not that I'd want to read them!

I have jezzoo. I started selling when the Heikin-Ashi candlesticks went red and when the Heikin-Ashi candlestick lengthened and the share price fell below the 10 day EMA. My only regret was not selling more on Monday 1st November. I have since sold most of my shares. I had just over 250,000, but now only hold 25,000.

PS I have posted a number of charts on the other thread. Unfortunately I didn't act on them fast enough. I succumbed to wishful thinking.

PPS The drawback of investing in speculative exploration shares like XTR is you never know if good news could be issued tomorrow that will cause the share price to spike up so you don't fully trust what the chart is telling you. I think I'll go back to investment trusts and producers rather than speculative explorers.

Looking like it could be heading down towards the 200 day EMA if the 50 day EMA support fails.

So Bird's fav poster over at the other place has now let the cat out of the bag with confirmation that Bushranger without a "measured JORC" is worth very little to shareholders. My thoughts all along. 5p must have read like a punch to the stomach. Any share price lift that the small African revenue next year would possibly have facilitated will now be negated by Bird's decision to carry on drilling Bushranger to provide what now seems is to be a "inferred JORC" at best ! Oh dear. I think the snowman poster will not be on too many xmas card lists.

GFG. Do stop drivelling. The market will only give credit (and then not always) for a properly prepared MRE, which will take time and drilling.

"An exponential moving average (EMA) is a type of moving average (MA) that places a greater weight and significance on the most recent data points. The exponential moving average is also referred to as the exponentially weighted moving average."

Thanks Papillon for your input. Why do you obviously prefer exponential moving averages to simple? Generally I see simple used, and I am really starting to use them in my decision making. Thankyou in advance.gla.

Papillon - I don't want to get into an argument about chart technicals (not au fait with them) But you say 'buying or selling on those occasions' !
What is your definition of 'occasions' ? By definition the moving averages only move down after selling has started. So perhaps you are justifying a 'signal' after the event. In which case not a lot of good unless you can always be sure that the 'start' of a price downtrend signals that it will always continue on down. You can come to that conclusion (or not) just as much by following minute by minute trades and volumes in the context of recent news or BB opinions. It would probably take a thorough, professional, statistical analysis to show whether these indicators really allow profitable trading in reasonable volume. Can't say I've ever seen one - and our friend Zac Mir doesn't seem to have a particularly spectacular track record that I can see. But, once again, how about a proper statistical examination ?

Indicated on these charts, lurker5, by arrows, are the occasions since the start of December 2020 where the 10 day EMA has risen above a rising 20 day EMA and conversely where the 10 day EMA has dropped below a falling 20 day EMA. Buying, or selling, on those occasions would have always made, or saved you, money; on 2 occasions very significant amount of money. Currently, despite the relatively large fall in the XTR sp, the 10 day EMA is still above a falling 20 day EMA. If 10 day EMA drops below the falling 20 day EMA on Monday then a fall back to the 200 day EMA would not surprise me.

PS. After a rise, especially a big rise, or spike up, going by these charts, it has always made sense to sell when the share price drops below the 10 day EMA.

It may be foolish, lurker5, but the Heikin-Ashi candlesticks, RSI and my EMA's are evidence that charts do mean something, even for a speculative, news driven, small cap share such as XTR..

I'm not sure that your post added any real insight Papillon. Where was your post when the share price was around the 6p level that suggested that a reversal was imminent? You post a heiken-ashi chart, but did you not interpret the potential reversal signal there? That might have helped some people. Instead you deliver a commentary on what has been, peppered with words like 'could' and 'hope', and your favourite 'but what do I know?'. Quite!

Also you seem to have failed to understand the nature of RSI and how it is calculated. An uptrend does not 'need' anything. let alone a specific value on an RSI chart. RSI is backward looking and does sometimes correspond to the trend of the price chart. But it delivers many false positives, or misleading signals, and can remain overbought for a considerable amount of time while a strong trend continues.

I hope most readers are savvy enough to seek advice and education in these matters from validated sources.
