17/8/2012 08:53 | The Times Business 17/08/12 p.43: Deal of the day Canny traders kept a close eye on Expansys, 10.5% higher at 1.05p. The word was that the AIM technology company, 42% owned by Peter Jones, of Dragons' Den, had agreed a deal with Orange to provide services for the mobile phone network's new pre-pay customers who wish to top up their phone credit online. | uknighted

15/8/2012 12:48 | Have to say that although at first glance the results looked ok, nearly all the profit is coming from the bit that is about to suffer regulatory / market changes and also possible legal action from past sales. That isnt a recipe for a rising shareprice. | stegrego

08/8/2012 20:15 | and if the claim is invalid as they suggest ?? and what are the details of these 'news reports' ? For real news, see below DJ INTERVIEW: Expansys Looking for Acquisitions, Sees Opportunities in Asia By Jana Weigand LONDON--Expansys PLC (XPS.LN), an online consumer electronics retailer and mobile network services provider, is looking to make further acquisitions and sees particularly attractive opportunities in Asia, its chief executive said Wednesday. "It's a good time to be an acquirer, because values seem to be sensible," Anthony Catterson told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview following the company's full-year results. "Asia continues to look very attractive, both from a retail and network services perspective," he said. "It's by far the strongest emerging market in e-commerce and wireless telecoms and I would imagine that if we do look at opportunities...the balance of opportunities may well be weighted towards Asia." With 5.5 million pounds ($8.6 million) in cash as at April 30, the company has the funds to move quickly if the right acquisition opportunity comes along, Mr. Catterson said. Expansys is also confident it will continue to grow organically. "Even if the right acquisition opportunity doesn't come along, I'm confident we can maintain good growth," he said. Earlier Wednesday, the company said it swung to a pretax profit of GBP1.9 million for the 12 months ended April 30, compared with a loss of GBP700,000 a year earlier. Revenue rose 33% to GBP108.5 million. At 0845 GMT, its shares were down 0.05 pence, or 3.8%, at 1.3 pence. The FTSE AIM Index was down 0.03%. 08/8/2012 13:22 | Oregano - xps haven't but news reports suggest that distributors may face claims of "up to £1m". Xps are likely to be at the upper end of the claim scale, however it is likely any resolution out of court will be negotiated to much less. If xps lost in court, anywhere up to that figure, plus costs. Great RNS and pretty much what I hoped for. Shame the share price didn't meet my hopes! Crazy world of AIM. Let's hope for director buys soon. | geckoman
08/8/2012 10:53 | DSNS generates all their profit and is going backwards. Margins there are still huge, and I am not sure what value is added. Have they quantified how large the claim from the network operator is? without this evaluating this business is difficult. | oregano
08/8/2012 09:50 | It looks like there were a few in for a short term buck on the results. They would have to have been nimble to make even 10%. Anyway the results themselves were at the lower end of my expectations. But the cash position has strengthened and they now hold 5.5 mil - which is well over a third of the market cap. They have no debt. PBT up significantly year on year. Next year looks like flat to marginal growth judging by the statements - but we knew that following the last announcement. | the big fella

07/8/2012 21:50 | I can't believe no-one has posted on here today with results due tomorrow... Of course, I recognise that all the talk before the results is just speculation, and that the real debate starts after the RNS - but still... There's usually at least one uninformed idiot looking to bandy ill-judged ideas around. So I'll kick off by going for 2.5p at peak tomorrow, climbing until peaking Friday at 3.2p. More if the Directors decide to buy in. | geckoman
06/8/2012 21:15 | Big Fella - within AIM, that is not my understanding. I believe that the broker (in this case Joint, Singer and Cenkos)is there (from a regulatory perspective) to ensure that the company (XPS) meets all the criteria under AIM rules. The current value that they attach to the company, and its future potnetial value, is incidental, and irrelevant of the RESPONSIBILITIES that the COMPANY owes the BROKER. A copy can be found here. https://docs.google. The company is under no obligation, as I understand it, to release an RNS based upon what their nominated broker says, should the actual performance differ significantly from what the broker says. The company's responsibilities to release an RNS MAY be affected by a change in performance: "11. An AIM company must issue notification without delay of any new developments which are not public knowledge concerning a change in: ♦ its financial condition; ♦ its sphere of activity; ♦ the performance of its business; or ♦ its expectation of its performance, which, if made public, would be likely to lead to a substantial movement in the price of its AIM securities." ( BUT this has nothing to do with the BROKER, nor the mutual responsibilities between BROKER and COMPANY. Just my opinion and happy to be proved wrong. | geckoman
