01/10/2017 16:21 | FG, it's a 20 page note which I haven't got round to reading yet! Will post some more when I can. More good news snippets: "Xaar’s Unique High Laydown Technology Brings Extra Value to Labels Wednesday, September 20, 2017 Cambridge - Xaar, the leader in industrial inkjet technology, is delighted to announce its unique new High Laydown Technology, now available for printing a range of textured effects on labels, folding cartons and products. Such high-build, textured effects (also called tactile or dimensional effects) can be used to significantly enhance the shelf appeal of products and ensure that they stand out when on display. In addition, further highlighting the company’s continuing innovation, Xaar is announcing the extension of its Xaar 2001+ high performance printhead family to include UV applications such as printing labels and cartons." Further good coverage - and a nice picture - here: And this new printer uses "Xaar 1003 printheads with Xaar’s unique TF Technology (ink recirculation)": "EPS Launches Advanced Object Printing Machine at Pack Expo 2017 Thursday, September 21, 2017 EAST DORSET, VT – Engineered Printing Solutions (EPS), the leading manufacturer of custom industrial inkjet printers, is proud to launch the Roto-JET industrial inkjet printer, the latest advancement in cylindrical object printing, at Pack Expo 2017, booth #8168 (Las Vegas Convention Center - September 25-27, 2017). 29/9/2017 10:04 | Panmure Gordon have today initiated coverage with a Buy and a 556p target - and this assumes no contribution at all from the 3-D printing HSS technology, which is a "significant potential source of upside risk". | rivaldo
13/9/2017 13:36 | More good news - XAR's high speed sintering (HSS) for 3D printers is being made commercially available for the first time through Voxeljet: Extracts: "voxeljet to Unveil First Commercial High Speed Sintering 3D Printer Michael Molitch-Hou posted on September 13, 2017 | Earlier this year, we learned from the inventor of high speed sintering (HSS), Xaar’s Neil Hopkinson, that his technology was right around the corner from a commercial release. Now, industrial 3D printer manufacturer voxeljet has announced it will unveil the world’s first commercially available HSS system at the November formnext trade show in Germany.... .....HSS will find its way into the marketplace through a licensing model, with firms licensing the technology from Xaar in order to incorporate HSS printheads onto their machines. The first such machine will be a modification of voxeljet’s VX200. The smallest of the German firm’s systems, the VX200 has a build volume of 300 x 200 x 150 mm.... ...Dr. Ingo Ederer, voxeljet chief executive officer, said of the new product, “Our new high speed sintering process will initially be launched on our VX200 platform. With that, we are excited to offer to our customers great flexibility regarding process and machine parameters, as both can be tailored by our customers to their specific needs. We offer the option of open sourcing for materials, as our customers can choose various testing and validation services from voxeljet. ProPrint, our new and modular printing software, is available in a full access development-kit, allowing for even greater customization options. The availability and application of a wide range of 3D printable thermoplastic materials, including elastomers, makes this product line ideally suited for material suppliers, universities, and other institutions.” Hopkinson told us in April that voxeljet is actually the smallest firm to have licensed the technology. This means that in November, not only will HP have some stiff competition, but that competition will have stiff competition as well." | rivaldo
12/9/2017 11:36 | Encouraging interview with the CEO: Extract: "It has returned to the graphics market with a bang, thanks to joint ventures with Ricoh and Xerox. A deal struck with one of China’s largest wide format graphics Oems in the country which has pledged to buy 90,000 1201 heads in the next two years. “It is the biggest ever deal in Xaar’s history,” he says. “The partnership with Xerox for the next bulk platform has delivered the first revenues from the 5501 head. We are pleased about that.” | rivaldo

25/7/2017 12:12 | Good news: "Domino picks Xaar for new outer case coders By Staff writer 25 Jul 2017 The largest variant in the Domino C-Series Plus range, the C6000+ is a high-resolution, large-character printer used to mark porous and semi-porous substrates The Xaar 502 GS15 O has been chosen as the printhead technology for the 70mm C6000+ variant of the Domino C-Series Plus piezo drop-on-demand outer case coders. The largest variant in the Domino C-Series Plus range, the C6000+ is a high-resolution, large-character printer used to mark porous and semi-porous substrates – cardboard boxes, trays and bags – for identification, traceability and graphic personalization. It is capable of printing TrueType fonts, graphics and GS1 compliant barcodes, and has a maximum print height of 70mm. In addition, it is compatible with a range of oil-based inks, including black mineral oil-free (MOF) SunJet IK822, the latest addition to Xaar’s approved ink portfolio. The 502 GS15 O printhead utilizes Xaar’s piezoelectric actuator design, PrecisionPlus, which includes a long throw distance, and increased stability and robustness. Inclusion of an optimized nozzle guard to support automated maintenance routines makes the Xaar 502 GS15 O suitable for use in harsh, demanding coding and marking environments, Xaar said. The printhead also incorporates TF Technology, which can be run in either full through flow mode or pulsed mode. This optional mode recirculates ink behind the nozzles during non-printing periods. ‘Our customers look for consistently high quality codes, reliable performance and high uptime,’ said Andy Barrett, OCC at Domino Printing Services. ‘For our C6000+ printer, the new Xaar 502 printhead delivers on all accounts.’" | rivaldo
