02/5/2018 14:03 | Success in China: "RIP software drives success of Xaar 1201 printhead in Asia 30/04/2018 The remarkable and continuing success of the Xaar 1201 printhead in Asia was underlined at the Shanghai Ad and Sign Show 2018 as six leading RIP (raster image processor) suppliers received awards for developing software for the Xaar 1201. The RIP software from two Chinese companies, Maintop and Hosonsoft, as well Onyx, Sai, Aurelon, and Caldera is enabling printers using the Xaar 1201 to enhance their workflow and optimise print for a range of applications – from graphics to dye sublimation textiles. Through its collaboration with Guangzhou HaoCheng, Xaar provides printer manufacturers with an extensive and stable supply chain and full integration support. As a result, the Xaar 1201 is undergoing rapid adoption by printer manufacturers across Asia. The versatile and compact Xaar 1201 printhead can be used to print one, two or four colours. It delivers a high level of print quality and performance, and is capable of handling aqueous, UV and eco-solvent inks. Designed for easy integration by printer manufacturers, the Xaar 1201 features 1280 nozzles that jet variable drop sizes. These produce high-quality graphics and textiles on a wide range of substrates at an apparent resolution of up to 1440 dpi. MainTop created its customised MainTop 6.0 software specifically for the Xaar 1201, enabling it to deliver high-speed, high-precision printing. Similarly, Hosonsoft developed a specially customised version of its Sharp Printing 2.0 software for the Xaar 1201 printhead. Both companies have enhanced the workflow of the Xaar 1201-based printers and provided outstanding colour management and colour profiling to optimise the print quality and performance the printhead produces. Their respective software developments also allow end-users various choices of solutions. “The RIP software from both Maintop and Hosonsoft has been a key factor in the growth and success of the Xaar 1201 printhead in China and across Asia,” comments Bob Bobertz, Director of Sales, Asia, at Xaar. “The companies’ work was absolutely crucial for the successful take up of the Xaar 1201 – and is one of the main reasons so many of our customers have converted to digital and are enjoying outstanding print quality results. “I am pleased to add that Shanghai Ad and Sign Show was a great success for Xaar overall – we had 17 OEMs showing more than 50 new printers for graphics, textiles and signage. This exceeded expectations and is an indication of how customers can get ahead and achieve more with Xaar inkjet technology.” | rivaldo |
