03/1/2019 10:44 | 'Never make investing decisions purely for tax reasons' | davidkip
03/1/2019 10:24 | peter, but you have a capital gains allowance, and you only pay 40%of any gains so you would still keep the other 60%, so if you truly believe they are really going to grow the company surely waiting will cause you to lose potential profit in the meantime? Say they list some where eventually at a £1, you would have lost the profit of £30k x 150% = £45k So, £45,000 profit less your capital gains allowance, £11,700 at 40%, would be your tax to pay, say around £16K. So by not investing now, you are prepared to lose £29K after tax? That doesn't make sense to me, if you genuinely believe in the team. | andy
03/1/2019 09:57 | Why do people think the share price will rocket after every deal. 3 p to 40p in a year isn't bad.. while I would love to see another 40 p or more rise in a year I thing slow and steady is better than a rocket rise. As for main listing..i have 30k available in my isa for whet.. but wouldn't dream of putting that much in britdaq.. why...tbe tax man.. | petersmith6
03/1/2019 08:31 | Looks like someone sitting on shares in a lobster pot. The NARC deal triggered very little volume after trading resumed post suspension. | davidkip
03/1/2019 08:00 | Looks like someone sitting on a very healthy profit then | spary1
02/1/2019 23:50 | Is the imbecile who still talks to dimwit Williams? He bought a lot of shares which can't have been obtained through Britdaq as some were far too large: MR THOMAS WILLIAMS 20,000 23-MAR-18 159,500 23-MAR-18 117,523 23-MAR-18 20,000 23-MAR-18 90,500 23-MAR-18 3,450 23-APR-18 16,667 01-MAY-18 23,910 13-JUN-18 I can't remember exactly when WHET suspended prior to the RAP announcement (could have been on or before 23 Apr?) but I am fairly sure it was still suspended on 1 May. Update 1 May 2018 Whetstone will be making a further announcement after trading hours today regarding its first transaction. They all match up with WE sells. | sweet karolina
02/1/2019 22:55 | Just one little snippet I received. "He has also tried selling more shares to one of the only guys who still talks to him, who is just their until he can sell and recoup some of his money. Many still don’t have share certificates , deliberately being held back, to stop a rush of sales." | roydyor
02/1/2019 22:05 | I thought Darren was just a simple investor ? | davidkip
02/1/2019 21:54 | Spary, Dimwit Dazza's boiler room has been running for years. There is an inner circle that have bought shares and an outer circle who he tries to get to buy shares - you simply cannot loose (sic) is one of his favourite lines, you can pay by credit card too: "This message was sent on 12/12/15: Simple deal give me £5k on credit card by Wednesday but Nuna shares if they don't list I will give you your money back - plus if you have not made any money when u get your certificate on 8/11 th of Jan meaning the share price is not greater than the price that you bought them at (which will be the opening price st 8am Denmark time 7am UK time then I will give you your money back on the same day ie 8/11th jan - that means you simply cannot loose plus if they are not listed u get all your money back too ! Only giving that deal to you - it's an absolute no brainier as by theories you need to pay back on the credit card you will either haw made more money than the £5k or had the money returned to you in full ! But if you make Money u can reimburse me the credit card charges that bus club have to pay which is around £150 but only if you make more that £5150 so you simply cannot loose !" | sweet karolina
02/1/2019 20:14 | Spary - you're registered with Britdaq (so both a High Net Worth and Sophisticated Individual), invested in a private, unlisted company (WHET) ... have you read the full CS? | davidkip
02/1/2019 19:13 | David, yes aware that went on as was quite a bit of talk when the CS came out, thought it was just at the beginning though from what I read ? | spary1
02/1/2019 19:11 | SK- yep still got a bit at various levels, yes the tax relief implications on mortgage are a bit of a pain and the government just don’t like private landlords, why the hell you can’t use property as a pension fund stinks, interesting about the USA, did think about propert abroad, more holiday destinations, seems a bit hit or miss back in the day with properties being taken back, etc and scared me off | spary1
02/1/2019 18:15 | spary WHET are not listed on any RIE. All Britdaq does is bring together two individuals, who then do a private trade and swap certs. If you already know someone with shares, you can do exactly the same trade without Britdaq introducing you to each other. Hence the man in the pub comment. All the trades done as a result of matches on Britdaq are listed on the Confirmation Statement. And all the trades that took place between people, but without being matched by Britdaq, are also listed on the CS. Unfortunately the CS doesn't distinguish between the two (for obv technical reasons). I assume you've actually read the CS spary? If so, compare it (ie the total trade volume) with the volume that has been reported on Britdaq for the subset of Britdaq-facilitated trades. I'm curious about this other 'market' that exists, but as you don't seem to be aware of it spary then I guess we can't get anywhere further by discussing it. That's a pity. | davidkip
02/1/2019 18:12 | Spary, Buy 2 Let in the UK has always been a mugs game, even more so now the tax rules are changing. I got 3 x 3 bed houses in US for a total of £135k right after the total collapse of the sub prime mortgage market, did not even need a mortgage for that small amount. I don't even care what they might be worth to sell right now or as the US price crash unfolds, with 11% this year and 15% net of all costs and tax next year, why would I even try to sell them? Good luck with yours in the UK, I hope you have not got a BtL mortgage on them still as that could smart a bit with the new tax rules and interest rates likely to rise. | sweet karolina
02/1/2019 18:03 | David- what’s this about trading away from Britdaq? There only listed there, unless like me you bought down the pub 😂 | spary1
02/1/2019 18:02 | SK- thanks for the heads up about investments, as you say I prefer to be in control, if that’s what you can call it, yes also have property like yourself and bought 1st buy to let nearly 20 years ago, as someone else said will be keeping my eye on any down turn, let’s hope it’s not at a distressed seller though, hope it doesn’t dip in one respect, to soft obviously | spary1
02/1/2019 17:54 | Because you might then be able to give us some insights into the trading taking place away from Britdaq. The volume of trading on Britdaq is way less than what you see from the Confirmation Statement, thus I'm curious about the parallel 'market'. All the posts on here and LSE focus on the Britdaq trades and price, but that's clearly not the full picture. | davidkip
02/1/2019 17:43 | guys I’m not quite sure why you want what i class as my own personal information etc, and yes I bought shares for a pint of lager and a packet of crisps, 3p to £2.40 with WRN and I hope the same with WHET, in for a penny out for a pound lol or £2 at some point I hope for a free ride as most people do but who knows, I might already be on one🤔 we need to see what happens with the next deals etc | spary1
02/1/2019 17:05 | Spary - ignoring any gifted WHET shares you might have, can I ask roughly what fraction of your WHET shares you bought through Britdaq, as opposed to off-market "from a man in a pub"? | davidkip |
