Worthington Group Plc ("Worthington", "the Company" or "the Group")

Issue of Options

The Directors of Worthington Group plc announce that the Company has today awarded options over a total of 3,935,671 ordinary shares of 10p each to Peter Townsend, a director of the Company, at an option price of 11p per Ordinary Share. The closing mid-market price on 26 August 2011, being the last practicable date prior to this announcement, was 10p per Ordinary Share. The options granted above shall be exercisable in respect of 1,500,000 Ordinary Shares from today's date, in respect of 1,500,000 Ordinary Shares from 30 August 2012, and in respect of 935,671 Ordinary Shares from 30 August 2013. The Option Period ends on 30 August 2018, which shall not be capable of extension beyond ten years from today's date.
