08/12/2018 17:35 | Yes, most of the investments are marked to Neil’s funky valuation model. Exponential growth from here to eternity. Jobs a good one until the cash runs out and the bull turns into a bear. The biggest losers in the bear market are going to be the loss making disrupters that are on silly valuations. It’s coming. | topvest
08/12/2018 17:05 | You are totally wrong there, silly old jonwig. Everybody knows that WPCT's undoubted recent modest success cannot be because of the small proportion of unquoted stocks. Everybody can see that when the unquoted stocks become quoted nearly always the valuation goes UP, you bat. Everybody can see now why you funked answering Solonic's very clever question. You do not understand that valuation is in fact NEVER really an absolute as you seem to believe. You are very disreputable in my opinion. | brummieloser
08/12/2018 16:40 | @ stewart64 - one of the great things about holding unquoted stocks! All my VCT and EIS holdings have been unmoved for the past two months, bar ex-div effects. But I'm not saying that they've beaten the market. | jonwig
08/12/2018 15:10 | Patient Capital has really bucked the trend during this correction. Not invested, don't understand it, but well done to those that have been this year. By contrast his income focus has dropped to bottom investment at under 85p. (Pound at March 2017). Sounds bad but there again the 250 ( more representative of his domestic picks) is down 17% since June and 15% with dividends...exactly the fund loss. Should have done better year one mind. | stewart64
07/12/2018 18:43 | AJ Bell floated today and went to a massive premium. Woodford bailed an excellent position pre-IPO. Another example of selling the family silver to buy story stock rubbish. Another example, another day. Share price for WPCT is interesting. Who’s buying this rubbish? | topvest
06/12/2018 23:15 | Mereo, you can't get aything right, is a good sounding operation. One of its developing drugs is BGS-649 – a medicine for obese men suffering from hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (testosterone deficiency), just right for you winnie! | truthteller3
06/12/2018 22:02 | Does anyone want to pass comment on yesterday's 'marriage of two pigs', being 'Super' Mareo Pharma and California based Oncomed??? The Times are reporting Woody holds 42% of this drug induced coma. You can't help wondering if chef Woodford is a little too fond of the product LOL LOL. The Woodford Elite like to besmirche and befuddle, to denegerate and defecate. But what they can't deny is that it is WPCT that has the whiff of the toilet!!! | ltcm1
06/12/2018 20:53 | This thread is rapidly changing into jonwig's Home for Improvident, Impoverished and mentally Impaired old trolls who do not know the difference between Woodford's various portfolios (e.g, topvest, hee hee). jonwig is too busy changing bedpans etc to tell them, but I'm certain by now that he doesn't know either. You were right, Solonic, jonwig couldn't answer your not too difficult question. I doubt very much if he could pass those accountants' exams, although they can't be very difficult. Remember it was the class-knowall with max 5 'O' levels who either took accountancy or worked as a bank clerk. LOL | truthteller3
06/12/2018 18:33 | Eve Sleep is yet another example of Mr Woodford failing to admit defeat on a very poor investment decision and compounding his error. Maybe a read of a behavioural investing handbook might help Neil. When you are wrong you need to admit it and move on rather than insisting that you were correct. Name me one mistake that Woodford has owned up to? | topvest
06/12/2018 15:54 | I'm sorry my last post was silly and pathetic. LOL. Who cares? | 1tcm1
06/12/2018 15:44 | Jonwig, my understanding of the 'argument' you are making, in part, is that there is a difference between the published value of the unquoted shares in the portfolio and what you deem to be the 'real' value. Would you please quantify that error and is the 'real value' greater or smaller than the published value? Go on, don't faff around! Give us the answer, give the chapter and verse, and the figures, or your animadversion is worthless. I'd even accept a roughly correct answer. We shall hear nothing from the pontificating rogue, I bet. | solonic
06/12/2018 15:39 | Ah so you admit it is mainly hope value here oily. About time we had an honest response!!! | ltcm1
06/12/2018 15:17 | I simply do not understand why anybody of any intelligence and who knows investment trusts would try to argue that it is the current valuation, however it's calculated, that is currently holding WPCT up. I notice that jonwig never answers the contrary, correct, reasoning that other, better, posters proffer. He has been totally defeated in debate, that's why! | oiltakeyouhomeagaincaitlin
06/12/2018 15:03 | Looks like old wiggy is hurting bad and is struggling terribly with excuses. He wishes he'd bought at 73, instead of whining, and it then wouldn't matter particularly about the valuation of unquoted shares. Besides there's TONS of headroom before it hits the current 103 valuation. I've never seen an accountant get things so wrong. We all know that accountants know the cost of everything but the value of nothing. | mochyn
06/12/2018 14:55 | lewis121 - that, of course, is because unquoted companies don't revalue on a market basis. So rest easy, then, if it suits. | jonwig
06/12/2018 14:04 | That's what I was thinking. I bet Wibbifrith's pathetic shareprophet rabble are wishing they had invested in WPCT when the clever ones on this threaad did. Instead their mis-directed little choices are lying in smithereens on the floor. Eat you heart out wiggy! You're not clever enough, LOL. | chuckol
06/12/2018 13:19 | Our share price is holding up reassuringly well against the market drop. Good. | lewis121
06/12/2018 13:19 | You wonder what sort of message it sends out to all his other startups. Bet the fella making the air breathing rocket in Oxford facnies his chances of a few more quid. Ofcouse if Eve was still private it would be an upward valuation based on another successful funding round!!! | ltcm1
06/12/2018 11:50 | Eve was one of the early signs that he doesn't really understand what he is investing in. He talked about them being revolutionary and disruptive, being able to take on the traditional mattress retailers, without seeming to realise that there are a zillion other foam mattress companies out there with the exact same product and business model - Casper, Simba, Leesa, Bruno, Hyde, Ergoflex. They all have to compete on price and with prolonged "free trial" offers that result in huge numbers of returns. All of them are nowhere near sustainable in terms of profits. Yet Woody keeps pouring money in | daffyjones
06/12/2018 08:26 | he just never gives up does he? just keeps adding and adding and adding. it's called a Equity Income Fund. Where's the income flow? | cc2014
06/12/2018 07:27 | NW is keen to support EVE's fundraising with £8m (it's a small bit of his EIF, once a bigger bit), provided he can get a whitewash resolution through. (His stake will be over 40%.) Placing price 10p, share price 14p. He was a holder pre-IPO and a buyer between 80p and 120p. | jonwig
05/12/2018 12:40 | Hush, I hear a thousand voices singing that very song! Oh, and take your halitosis and skidmarks with you. LOL | brummieloser
05/12/2018 12:31 | Yes. Good-bye-ee! good-bye-ee! Wipe the tear, baby dear, from your eye-ee. Tho' it's hard to part I know, I'll be tickled to death when you go. Don't cry-ee! don't sigh-ee! There's a silver lining in the sky-ee. Bonsoir old thing, cheerio! chin chin! Nah-poo! Toodle-oo! Good-bye-ee! Aye, TaTa to the three stooges. Not a brain between them, but 300 monikers | chuckol |
