Ah well, there we have it, elmfield. Just as I surmised. As far as WPCT goes you have no stake, no knowledge and clearly no understanding of its purpose. Perfect qualifications for being a TROLL, I'd say. Just like your mates, as far as investment in general is concerned you are platitudinous and pompous.

I often wonder what goes on in the mind of a troll. Don't try to answer that. There is no room for self-examination even in those cavernous empty spaces of your mind.

LOL LOL LOL

No I did not invest in this,
The old investment trusts that woodfor used to run have done well enough
without him,
Investing is all about timing, time for this one is not yet.imv.
Good luck. But I won't be investing, yet.

A quintisentially British peculiarity; find someone who is clever and has been very successful (certainly more successful and cleverer than yourself) and trash them at every opportunity. Based on sheer jealousy and guff.

Lots of people claim to have made investments. Amazing how many of them get in/out at the right moment because of their research/gut feel.

Ignore the great unwashed Air Marshall.

Mochyn: you surely will have noted that not one of the trolls answers your very pertinent question as to why they invested in a 'patient' fund in the first place. LOL LOL LOL

But every intelligent investor knew this at the very beginning! The whole rationale was that he would invest in many unquoted companies, some of which would fail. Why is it that you trolls are reminding us that this is the case? Indeed why did you and your fellow trolls invest in the fund? It should be bloody obvious to the most stupid investor that you would not reasonably be able to constantly monitor 70 or so fairly racy investments as originally envisioned, so why are you trying?

I think you trolls never understood the proposition of WPCT and are crying mightily over spilt milk. And you are attempting, totally unsuccessfully, to scare the more intelligent experienced investors who understood what it was all about!

OH dear - The rose tinted glasses punters are back - WPCT could be an interesting investment at a 25% discount to claimed nav as no way of valuing unlisted investments apart from level of last fund raise. Only guide could be significant failures of some listed investmets as guide. This has been pointed out many times. Hence the scepticism of many.

Many (imo) were inerested as a result of Woodford's reputaion but are now ultra cautious and watching -

Careful, elmfield, et al. If you think whatever you are trying to say is relevant, why did you invest in WPCT? Pretty thick small investors, I'd say! LOL

Even the faithful will admit he has lost his touch.
He used to buy such solid, even boring, companies similar to Buffett.
but dabbling in doorstep lenders, peer to peer, biotech.
thanks but no thanks.
he has been burned.

Running the portfolio at his old outfit was
Completely different to what he is trying to do here.
Should have stuck to solid.

I note that Abzena, 23% owned by Woodford ltd, is down 24% today after a profits warning. Not clear to me which investment vehicle holds these shares. A little more tarnish added to his reputation?

It's a good idea to try to eliminate emotion from investing LK.

Seedrs is picks and shovels for Angel investing.

It's smart to have Seedrs in the portfolio as it has positive exposure attached with reduced risk to any Angel exposure.

They are nor preparing a secondary market too. Good idea.

I like the exposure and having gone over the portfolio I'm quite mellow in holding WPCT with some of my own portfolio.

I like the look of the SEEDRS holding. Picks and shovels in Angel/Innovation etc.
Looked over the WPCT portfolio this weekend and can't say I was taken by surprise.

Quite ok as a hold to see it develop and a few private in there I wouldn't be able to easily access anyway but that look very useful.

It will turn.

Poor old pug, the unsuccessful troll. Out with his dinky little tarbrush trying so hard to blacken WPCT by mentioning shares that have failed. Unfortunately for him, as far as I can ascertain, NOT ONE of those shares was ever in the WPCT portfolio.

Pug, if you wish to ascend the troll ladder you've got to be much more logical than that. Hee Hee!

Help Please!

WPCT has a market cap of c £800m

Purp has a market cap of c £1.27bn

Wpct has 18.4% or PURP (hXXp://investors.morningstar.com/ownership/shareholders-major.html?t=5PB

This is worth £233m

in the july WPCT fund breakdown it said that PURP was worth 11.6% of the total. 11.6% of 800 = £92m

So has the fund sold £140m of Purp recently?

Cheers

toffeeman
