18/5/2011 08:05 | Has anyone got their head round this yet?? Am I right in saying that if the first stage return of cash is fully successfull then there will be 32% less shares in circulation? Why would you sell your shares (or 32% of them anyway) back to WG at 5% less than the current value? | jack parlabane
17/5/2011 18:14 | Circular is here | aly48
17/5/2011 14:34 | EH??? Am I reaaaalllyy stupid or have WG just offered me 25p less than market price for my shares?? | jack parlabane
16/5/2011 13:46 | If I had wanted to sell my shares I would have done it at the time of the disposal when £7+. I was looking forward to receiving a chunky cash payment AND to continue holding all my shares. This is a dissappointing outcome. | strollingmolby
16/5/2011 13:20 | And me.......... Deffinition of a tender: Tender offer. When a corporation or other investor offers to buy a large portion of outstanding shares of another company, called the target company, at a price higher than the market price, it is called a tender offer. | aly48

27/4/2011 13:46 | Press Release yesterday: 'Wood Group, the international energy services company, confirms the completion of the disposal of its Well Support division to GE Energy Manufacturing, Inc. As previously announced, Jim Renfroe, formerly Group Director, Well Support, resigned as a director of Wood Group following completion of the disposal. The Board expects to announce further details of the proposed return of cash shortly after the company's annual general meeting.' AGM is on Wednesday 11 May. Probably get some idea of the details at the meeting but the subject does not appear to be included in any of the resolutions although I have only briefly skimmed them. | pip
27/4/2011 10:29 | For sure!! What do you reckon for share price post payout?? | jack parlabane
27/4/2011 10:27 | Still holding though! | philo124
27/4/2011 10:26 | Well Services sale complete. Confirmation of $1.8b payout to sharelholders imminent. SP above £7 No posts on the board :-( | jack parlabane
21/4/2011 19:39 | In the way of things, the share price would certainly be marked down on payout to reflect the new NAV of the company. However, if it has been a shrewd move and the company is still perceived as a growth company with potential, the price will begin to tick up quite quickly. Investors often have short memories and start buying again on positive news. Meanwhile, hopefully we will remain in profit on the share and have a very nice cash sum! | pip
21/4/2011 13:42 | For sure on PSN. That has been in the national press. What do you reckon will happen to the share price post pay out??? If we are sitting at £7 and the pay out is £2 a share are we £5 the day after??? Risk is we are less than £5 I suppose. Dont really know how it will pan out. SP was £5.50 before sell off to GE was announced. | jack parlabane
21/4/2011 12:46 | The answer is no but I couldn't agree more. Made a 75% profit so far and only surpassed by APF in my portfolio. I would now be very wealthy if all my shares had performed any where near this one! The latest news suggests thet the various regulatory hurdles for the Well Division have been concluded and completion is expected this month. No doubt we will hear more at this point on the extra pay out. I also note that the PSN acquistion was completed today perhaps explaing today's tick up. Pip | pip
21/4/2011 08:07 | Very very quiet thread for such a decent share. Anyone know when next news on pay out for asset disposal is due?? Is there a more active WG thread on a different board?? | jack parlabane
