Hopefully they have learned lessons and hedged the fuel.

All the airlines have been hit recently - wasn't a lot of it due to Ryanair being more cautious about the winter? Plus oil prices have risen quite a bit in the last 2 months.

What's the reason it crashed this low anyway? Surely not due to traders and chartists? It was all going so well in May.

I'm also thinking the 61.8% ought to be the limit to the downside - unless there's a big general market correction.

The full range is 3,228p to 1,322p and the 61.8% comes in at 2,050p, which should be a strong support. So far the lowest we've been is intra-day on 18 Aug at 2,111p.

I think the fall may be about done now, Weekly Close on Monday could go either way, 61.8% retracement looks enough. Monthly down cycle should be done.
The chart does have an alternative bottom at around 1700, this could be what Doombermans is looking at, but I'm not sure this would be deserved.

Oil currently down 2%, looks set to follow a recent pattern of drifting to or below $80pb.

Doom,

If you don't need the money don't look at the daily movements. However, you've got to consider a stop loss at some stage, or accept the market girations. GL.

Indeed @bulltradept - very much depends on the total 'pot' of cash to invest. I guess it's better to talk in percentage terms as that way it's the same whatever your total pot size.

Scaling in works if an investor is confident that fundamentals haven't changed with a fall in share price, and if their own view of the investment over the medium or longer term hasn't changed. If on the other hand an investor is looking fairly short term and puts all their cash in initially then a stop loss strategy is probably a safer option to avoid big losses. Additionally it allows you to retain most of your capital to invest elsewhere.

Ochs,

"did you really put in £30k in one go? That's an awful lot of money to invest in 1 share on a whim. Have you heard of scaling in? Means you invest your total capital gradually as price falls, so you end up with a lower average price."

Is it a lot of money though, if you've a pot of say £300k, i.e. 10% in 10 postions spread over different sectors?

I know people like to scale in by buying lower, then surely that's ok as long as you say want a full position of 10% of your total at the end of your buying.

However, there is a school of thought which thinks you shouldn't buy lower, all depends on the percentage difference between the various prices.

GLA Doomerman.

Fingers crossed for you that we get back towards £30 a share in the next for months.
