owen like Clipper Wincanton have never been busier as the shelfs clear at supermarkets and B and Q Screwfix Wilkinsons etc have queues, add e-fulfillment as people shop from home, throw in Waitrose Greenford and Hinkley Point ......actually homeworked it again and bought some trading stock at 270p to turn, this is going to 350p easily, probably on this spike.

HD been following the build up re Waitrose and first deliveries are due to leave end of Feb start of March....,but the news of 25000-30000 deliveries picked and delivered per week is a massive boost....nothing new inthe price yet for this

What would light the touchpaper is an announcement flagging up WIN starting Waitrose contract. Supermarket slots in big demand and will cause a bit of excitement. Huge wall of money piling into UK stocks post brexit and I think WIN is getting some of that love. Still bonkers only trading circa 10 times earnings.

Got my divi in my CFD account today.

net this stock price is performance orientated atm and if like Clipper it is run of its feet, which it is, like Clipper the share price will reflect that.

Just need the company to update the markets.

Assuming most people reinvest the dividend will that mean the share price will go up? Or will it mean people will sell ex-dividend? Or does it mean nothing and price going up nothing to do with dividend?

Wincanton usually puts its Christmas Activity Level stats on its website around the 13 or 14th Jan if the previous 2 year ones are anything to go by.

My post 789 of 16th Jan 2020 highlighted them and changes to previous years, so a comparison on previous years can be made when the Xmas 20 figures are published:-

Clipper now has double the market cap of Wincanton, one of these is out of kilter.

If you want to argue that Clipper is more cutting edge etc, then lets trim that difference to say 50pc so 390p for Wincanton....see how stupid it looks, especially when its going have double turnover and nearly double profits of Clipper.

Come on directors update the markets on your Nov and Dec trading and this stock price starts with a 3 all day long.

Agreed - Clipper report "unprecedented levels of activity" over November and December, and an "excellent level of confidence" looking ahead.

This must reflect very well on WIN's prospects too.

net the stock was trading sideways, always kept an watching brief, because real value here.

The breakout yesterday , although sold into, should prove conclusive imo.

Watching the action yesterday prompted me to buy back today, it seemed a little knowledge was involved.

The company will not experience anything like the spring downturn of last years shut down....and I am informed trading has been very strong since the last TS.

Definitely room to the upside as the markets suggest this lockdown will hurt again, it may a little but all the extra work on the books will easily bypass that. Expecting a new trading statement soon suggesting further market beat.

My target is 300p target short term.

Edit many of the Wincanton main markets are in fact booming in lockdown, all food and supermarkets, DIY, e-fulfilment, nuclear etc
