06/7/2021 01:14 | Now, there are increasing signs that mainland Europe is seeing a sharp rise in cases too.The EU is certainly worried about the spread of the highly infectious delta variant which evidence suggests is around 60% more transmissible than the alpha variant first found in England, causes more hospitalizations and slightly reduces the efficacy of vaccines.A number of European countries have introduced further restrictions on visitors from the U.K., but experts believe it's only a matter of time before it takes off in mainland Europe - and there are strong signals it already has.On Tuesday, French Health Minister Olivier Veran said that the delta variant now represents some 20% of Covid-19 cases in France, up from last week's estimate of it representing 9-10% of cases.Germany's public health body, the Robert Koch Institute, said this week that the delta variant accounted for around 36% of the cases in the week of June 15 - 20, up 15% from the week before. Lothar Wieler, president of the RKI, also told officials the variant now already represents more than 50% of registered cases in Germany, Deutsche Welle reported Tuesday.Meanwhile, Italy's national health institute said Friday that cases attributed to Covid variants delta and kappa (a "variant of interest," according to the World Health Organization, that's related to the delta variant) have surged in Italy in the past month, accounting for nearly 17% of total Covid cases. | gozzie2
06/7/2021 01:12 | It is spreading across mainland Europe also.hTTps://www.eur | gozzie2
05/7/2021 22:32 | Although I am not a fan of conspiracy theories so many things about this just don't wring true like if the delta variant is so infectious how come it's not taken hold across Europe where it already exists but is not spreading anything like it is here even in the major populations despite vaccination levels being much lower than ours? | tim 3
05/7/2021 21:56 | Clear as mud.If its not a legal requirement not many will carry on with it .What restrictions will still be enforced after July 19?Today's press conference left viewers unclear as to whether or not the Track and Trace system would still be enforced.Anyone visiting venues across England must check in via the NHS Track and Trace service, and it is thought this will continue after July 19 but not as a legal requirement.Boris Johnson's official spokesman told reporters: "The guidance will be that it is a good thing to do to support Test and Trace and contact tracing."But as more people are allowed into venues without booking, it becomes more challenging operationally so the regulation will be lifted."The regulations on things like table service go, all capacity limits would be lifted after that, and in addition to that, the gathering limits for the rule of six indoors and 30 outdoors would be lifted."The remaining businesses that are closed in law will be able to reopen, including nightclubs." | gozzie2
05/7/2021 21:12 | Absolutely Its a killer for business. Boris said they was carrying on with track and trace tonight but ditching the QR codes .Seems like mixed messages but there must be people in pubs with covid in the coming weeks .This will happen every week somewhere. Even one member off staff gets covid and they all have to be off work .That can't work | gozzie2
05/7/2021 20:10 | Out in Scarborough spoons is shut due to "unforeseen" circumstances and many pubs on limited hours due to staff shortages.Track and trace needs to stop now! | tim 3
05/7/2021 19:14 | I will visit the pub again but will not give correct details to track and trace .Its not worth it .I feel many still wont be confident. Chris Whitty said tonight he would wear a mask in crowded places indoors at the moment as cases rise .Err thats pubs so we won't see him in Spoons anytime soon lol | gozzie2
05/7/2021 19:06 | The only place this APP could have picked it up was wetherspoons St annes or a Greene king there.Expensive drink a weeks wages lol. | gozzie2
05/7/2021 19:04 | Thats true Tim but this is house arrest .One phone call today and four texts telling to isolate and not move .The latest from the council lol | gozzie2
05/7/2021 18:51 | There are people at work who have absolutely milked this for time off with symptoms every other week or partners having symptoms.funny enough we had a book on who would be off and it was pretty much spot on ! | tim 3
05/7/2021 11:47 | Ah they have listened to Gozzie lolThey are ditching the APP.Just a couple of weeks too late for myself. The best way out of this is a weekly testing 7 day kit for everyone. Everybody take a daily home test before they go out .Some won't comply but it would help imo.Boris Johnson to give press conference TODAY to announce the Covid restrictions lifted on July 19hTTps://www.thesun | gozzie2
05/7/2021 11:34 | Exactly .My brother and his mates all got rid of the App months ago. They realised the problem a while ago .The NHS guy is now ringing every 2 days to check if we are OK.It will be to see if we are complying .We have no symptoms. £10,000fine for non compliance No App no problemCrazy | gozzie2
05/7/2021 11:09 | Even Kate Middleton is having the same problem I'm in good company lolRoll on the 19th there will be hundreds of thousands .Sling the App Kate Middleton self-isolating after Covid contacthTTps://f7td5 | gozzie2
04/7/2021 19:23 | I'm beginning to feel like kreature and guitar.Track and trace will ring every 2 days and told not to leave the house lol.No symptoms just house arrest. | gozzie2
04/7/2021 12:49 | Covid vaccine booked for today .Not text as I posted lol.Now has to be re-bookedWhat hassle for a drink . | gozzie2
04/7/2021 11:48 | OK for the office workers that can carry on from home .Retail workers etc slinging the App in droves lol. | gozzie2
04/7/2021 11:26 | There's going to be 150,000 cases a day plus when restrictions come off on the 19th.Thats a lot of people not going to work and pubs closed . | gozzie2
04/7/2021 10:53 | Why the H#ll would anyone go out .My niece has had a message to self isolate today for 7 days .She had a Covid text booked for today and has a holiday in this country booked shortly .She can no longer have the test ,and now will lose a weeks wage and needed the money for the holiday .All because of the contact trace that has picked her up being close to someone ,most likely in a bar . | gozzie2
02/7/2021 22:40 | The vaccine has been a great success. Marvellous to see these young people queuing to get it to help others mainly . | gozzie2
02/7/2021 22:35 | Exactly its time to learn to live with this life must go on. | tim 3
02/7/2021 22:31 | No i think we must take chances with 2 jabs We can't isolate forever. My point has always been if many people are poorly they will see this ,and Choose not to visit the pub.If people are not poorly then they will carry on as normal. So far hospitalisation is not high .Simple really | gozzie2
02/7/2021 22:21 | Agree I think track and trace will become redundant. Cases look likely to carry on rising for at lest the near future and at some point we will probably come into contact with someone who has had it bit if you have had 2 jabs is there really a need to isolate? | tim 3 |
