27/4/2012 05:22 | Things looking bright - Dow up yesterday. Prospect of IMS today or early next week. Hoping to see another rise today! | phil140158
26/4/2012 21:09 | totally agree Greek Islander - good to see you back by the way. The PE is not particularly high for the sector and for a company that is growing its dividend at 21% pa, I would say not bad at all. | tratante
26/4/2012 16:52 | US shale situation is only one marginal factor re company activity which is across a wide cross section of interests. At the end of the day its about the bottom line and how it compares with next year and last year. And next years figures should not be under major threat. The financials for WEIR remain excellent and though some might argue as to whether the PE is too high or not, frankly this stock is now very cheap. | greek islander
26/4/2012 11:23 | US shale to be more precise, but it's not such a large part of the co as some think. Plus US shale drillers switching from gas to oil; still need Weir products and services. | tratante
26/4/2012 10:43 | Its all about shale. We need some reassurance from Co - probably at IMS due soon? | broadwood
26/4/2012 10:36 | We'll see soon enough, although not sure shorters are scrambling for cover. Some good news a couple of days ago might have caught them out, but now they have had plenty of time to take their ill gotten gains - unfortunately - and they can benefit from the rise. Makes you seeth, but you can't win against people with such deep pockets. | tratante
26/4/2012 09:44 | Contents of the management statement leaked out? Shorters scrambling for cover? Oh---happy days! | phil140158
26/4/2012 09:29 | Back in favour. | broadwood
25/4/2012 15:21 | Me too got in at 1638 gave up waiting for 1600! | gottlieb jeger
25/4/2012 13:08 | tratante - true, there is quite a range in dates: 26.04 in 2010 and 13.05 in 2009. Not sure there is a pattern in days of the week? I agree with you - asap please, I am in pretty deep here, but confident of alift pre or post the announcement. | phil140158
25/4/2012 10:08 | Management update could come anytime over the next couple of weeks, judging by previous years. The sooner the better I say. | tratante
21/4/2012 16:21 | You don't see the number, but there is an indicator based on data from Data Explorers on the FT companies page. Interestingly it's gone up to high again from a couple of days ago when it had fallen to medium. Hope these shorters have some tight stops; news from US suggests fears about gas price overdone. | tratante
20/4/2012 17:53 | Where do we monitor the number of shares shorted? apad | apad
20/4/2012 17:42 | Someone thinks it's worth buying more - Capital Research and Management just added 171,130 shares to take them over 5%. Got a good price on 16th April. Around £3M's worth! | tratante
18/4/2012 16:12 | Hope you all got some of that move on cable. Me and the monkey'll be back in this one soon. | penycae
18/4/2012 09:25 | Out at 1741. I'll keep an eye on this one. Daily looks very strong. Me and the monkey off for a bacon sarnie. Keep your eye on cable. Could be going for the title. | penycae
18/4/2012 09:15 | Fracking Handbags! Sorry, apad | apad
18/4/2012 09:14 | Morning all. Just bought a few of these this morning. Me and the monkey will hold them as a trading batch for a bit, just to test the water, as looking to add these to Mrs. P's portfolio. Just got her out of XTA with a few quid, so its either these or BRBY In at 1733.9. | penycae
17/4/2012 12:54 | I agree. Not that I want to be at this price, but this is a good entry point I would have thought. 17/18 analysts have them at hold or better and 13/18 outperform or buy. Median target price £23.45. I wouldn't risk keeping a short open as May 4th approaches! | tratante
17/4/2012 12:31 | Thanks, tratante. The report on UK fracking on the news this morning must be encouraging, but frankly, I think the negative feeling about US LNG is overdone and the market update on 4th May will support that view. IMHO | phil140158
17/4/2012 10:35 | FT site shows level of short selling activity has declined - was high, now medium. | tratante
12/4/2012 10:49 | Yeah, Sheila says its nobbed and i have done most of the calculations on my Panasonic scientific calculator. Hope that helps | sanks
11/4/2012 21:00 | Sanks - this is your last post: This was bound to happen, way overbought alongside JMAT, BNZL, Spirax! They will follow, no doubt I don't think WEIR is overbought now and others on here have suggested Bunzl is a bubble 'waiting to burst' but I think it is now 990 'ish with a top of 1020 or so. Any other predictions to support your ideas? | phil140158
11/4/2012 19:26 | Its poodee poodaa all the way..i did tell you several posts ago of the impending bubble! Hope it helps Sanks | sanks |
