06/10/2003 17:43 | Langdon you thug !!!! Notice you only when post when you're winning.... ;-)) | thegreatgeraldo
05/10/2003 19:45 | Mike, Decent win. and good to see you back on here again! we managed to Hand Hartlepool a point they didn't deserve, although their equalizer was sheer class. If you have a chnace, check out the free kick by Strachan, Beckham would have been proud! Buccini, looks like your mid table assessment will be accurate, we cna play well, but can't win home games, lack of a goalscorer, and now Connell's upset the manager, so we're going to loan him out! | andy
01/10/2003 09:57 | Could be a long wait then :-)) Thw world's gone mad: we've been playing rubbish all season against the average sides in Div. 2, and now we've just drawn 1-1 with QPR away, and beaten Plymouth 1-0 on their own patch. And then I find that Wycombe have sacked Lawrie Sanchez who's rated extremely highly in the game, and who in the past has been linked with every job going. | buccini
01/10/2003 09:01 | Where is he ?? Seems he only posts when he's winning ;-)) | thegreatgeraldo
22/9/2003 11:20 | Bring on Lagdon more like ....... has he shot himself ? | dil
21/9/2003 19:06 | cracking match at bramall lane yest.... 4-4 would have been a fairer result... bring on the 'ammers !!! | thegreatgeraldo
20/9/2003 19:11 | Buccini, Yes Wilson must be under real pressure now, as the expectation must be high, and I was surprised that you lost today. AFCB had their 3rd win in a week V Rushden. Match of two halves, they murdered us in the first, we outplayed them in the 2nd, overall we were fortunate to win,INHO. Their leading scorer was carried off, but they had several players that caught the eye. | ahkeen
20/9/2003 18:45 | I think I'd better remove Bristol City from the list above. We were absolutely awful again, and on that evidence we'll do well to finish in the top half never mind automatic promotion. Danny Wilson is trying the patience of every City fan at the moment with dour passionless displays, and the fact that we haven't played any of the top sides yet is very worrying. Port Vale looked very ordinary and the fact that they're topping the table demonstrates what a weak division this is this year. Come back Scott Murray. :-(( | buccini
19/9/2003 17:29 | buccini, I know you weren't being disrespectful! apart form AFCB fans, i'm sure everyone thinks the same. Yes I agree goalscoring is our weak point, but Alan Connell has yet to completely recover from injury, and when he does we may see a repeat of his 8 goals in 7 matches spree at the start of last season. He came on as a sub at QPR and turned their defenders inside out in the few minutes he had on the pitch. I agree with your selections, but there's nearly always a wild card! | ahkeen
19/9/2003 17:14 | ahkeen.... know the ground , was there a few seasons ago.... Earnie hat-trick from memory ? ;-) | thegreatgeraldo
19/9/2003 11:53 | TGG, No, but as we only have 3 sides to our ground, and there's a row of beach trees outside, it's possible to see the match free from the tree! You can also stand on the top of your car and see the game, and in the friendly v MAn Utd last year, I counted over 20 people in the tree, and about 30 standing on car roofs! | ahkeen
19/9/2003 09:46 | I'm sorry ahkeen, I didn't mean to be disrespectful by calling Bournemouth average, but I do still think you'll finish mid-table. Against us you played some neat football at times but lacked any real potency up front and failed to create any real goalscoring opportunities. Although this is a weak division this year there are some decent sides around who will be there or there abouts: Bristol City QPR Sheffield Wednesday Brighton Swindon Tranmere Luton Plymouth That's not including the likes of Port Vale and Barnsley who have set the early pace, and Rushden who have a bit of money behind them. If you finish in the play-offs I will be very surprised but I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be reminded of this post at the end of the season. :-) | buccini
19/9/2003 00:05 | buccini, I have to take issue with your statement "average mid-table sides like Bournemouth". The season is only a few games old, how do you know we'll onlt be "average mid table"? Let's look at the season so far; We lost away v Port Vale (top) 2-1 We lost away v QPR (3rd) 1-0, despite dominating the match, and hitting the bar 4 times! We have won away v Wrexham, and Blackpool. We have drawn at home v Swindon (5th) Bansley, and of course, Bristol City. We absolutely slaughtered Sheffield Wednesday the other night, their supporters were shocked by the magnitude of the defeat, and their lack of attacks throughout the match. You call us "mid table" at your peril! i think we could be much better than that, and the play offs may not be out of the question! | ahkeen
18/9/2003 15:47 | re the tree... it's not a cherry tree by any chance ? ;-) | thegreatgeraldo
17/9/2003 11:21 | AFC Bournemouth 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0!!! (they didn't know what day it was!) The match was totally dominated by Bournemouth, who hit the bar 3 times, the post once, had a goal disallowed, and had the most obvious penalty of the century turned down by an official that was as biased as I've ever seen. Sheffield Weds rarely threatened, and hardly crossed the halfway line in the second half. Euphoric scenes as the goal was scored with seconds left, and the first ever full house at the new Dean Court Stadium. Attendance : 8219 Fans in tree : 3 | ahkeen
16/9/2003 18:24 | I see Langdon's still sulking. | dil
16/9/2003 16:24 | AFCB v Sheffield Wednesday tonight @ 19:45. The match is now sold out to home fans! A rare opportunity to see Sheffield Wednesday in a league match at Dean Court, and the fans have responded by snapping up all the tickets! I've been looking forward to tonight since the fixtures came out, hopefully a terrific match in prospect, and a win for AFCB would be nice | ahkeen
15/9/2003 16:01 | buccini...who ?? if we carry on playing as we have been , we'll be in the premier next season..... interesting few matches coming up ... reading tomorrow , up to sheffield on sat , then west ham in the league cup next week ( live on sky)... should give us an idea how good ( or otherwise) we are | thegreatgeraldo
14/9/2003 16:44 | disappointing second half ;-) | thegreatgeraldo
14/9/2003 00:46 | Did Wrexham win ? lol Someone chuck a brick in the river with the score engraved on it for Langdon. Dil PS Anyone know how Cardiff got on ? :-) | dil
07/9/2003 22:30 | Oh good , looks like Langdon really did throw himself in the river after all. | dil |
