17/10/2012 11:01 | pwhite, you need to read the article as for the first time its been classified "emergency works" and additional funds advanced fr contracts.Although this is mainly for short term solution they are hinting that they are connected to the longer term plan in which MRI are the only plan on the table so far. Also the removal of tailings / fines are a major part of the short term solution and MRI have a major plan to convert this waste into coal briquettes (pilot is now underway). They could easily get a nice slice of both these pies IMVHO. | reutersman
17/10/2012 10:47 | Maybe a significant development on AMD for MRI & WET,now this has finally been classified under government "emergency waterworks" | reutersman

17/10/2012 07:47 | Hmmm, this is what WET said about the AMD issue in June . . . "Thus, the short term solution is a "band-aid" fix involving neutralizing the toxic water, but not removing the sulphates, thereby rendering the water unusable albeit less polluting. At the same time, the Department of Water Affairs commenced a tender process for the feasibility study to develop a Long Term Solution. This process is envisaged to take up to 18 months from the date the tender is awarded. Implementation of any project could be up to two years away at the earliest from when final decisions are made." | cufes2
