IMHO WET won't keep the shares. The extra holding in MRI will take them over 50% and WUC will once again be seen as "foreign" technology to the SA Govt.

Its the wider implication that is perhaps being missed!

The loan is in place due to withdrawal of an investor during the sale of WET to MRI, meaning MRI could not complete the cash part of the deal.

If MRI find an investor and finally pay the cash part of the deal, then I will view this positively.
If however they do not find an investor and convert the loan to shares in MRI, then I will view this negatively on the basis that in my opininion the business case is clearly not attractive to investors.
