20/2/2019 08:55 | RSI oversold buyers coming in - makes sense as the yield is very good indeed. | trt
19/2/2019 19:35 | John Lewis home sales down 7.6% on last year: | debsdowner
19/2/2019 17:08 | owenski WGB tied to housing market when people move they change things when the housing market dries up so does Wallpaper. Also there is a north south divide south prefer painted walls the north more wallpaper, however new houses mainly paint. As you know I am well clued up on retail, I haven't posted much here but did warn things would get worse. As consumers tighten up spending they will revert to paint as they need a tradesman to paper. Most people can splash paint on to a fashion and its a small fraction of cost of wallpaper. Approximate cost of paint for a room £30 which will paint the walls. Most walls would take about 8 rolls of paper 8 X £30 (average cost of good wallpaper inc Vat = £240 for average size room) Then add on £150 to £300 per day for a tradesman dependant on which part of the country the work needs doing as some parts are short of tradespersons. So you can see the problem WGB is up against, housing market at a standstill and consumers strapped for cash and with Brexit worries company conditions could deteriorate quickly. The good times now gone Sell. | debsdowner
19/2/2019 15:36 | whose expectations are those? Oh, it's managements expectations. What are they? We don't know do we? But the yield is good so that's all right then. Where can I buy those rose tinted specs? | alter ego
19/2/2019 15:25 | Yield is good and profits will be in line with expectations- can't ask for any more really in current climate. | trt
19/2/2019 13:56 | Does anyone even buy wallpaper these days except over priced poncy hotels. Maybe they should churn out premium bog roll instead, more useful. | owenski
19/2/2019 08:49 | While the 2019A results read positively (also somewhat ahead of broker estimates) the outlook reads weak. Then again that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone following the news. That last year was a peak-year for licensing was obvious as H&M is clearly a huge partner that you will not easily see repeated. Business faces challenging times but then again the share price reflects this very much so, especially after today's decline. I would expect the shares to stabilize at 75p or so at some point and then move little after for months to come (unless some big political event such as no-deal Brexit or no Brexit at all comes along). | tkamp
19/2/2019 08:48 | Dilemma of an already sluggish UK housing market, held back by stamp duty at the higher end where luxury re-furnishings are more likely, in addition to Brexit. How long this lasts and whether priced in, to an extent a trade buyer could be tempted... | edmondj
19/2/2019 08:40 | Share price is the reality Time for you to top up again on the dog Daisy ;-) | owenski
19/2/2019 08:37 | Profits will be in line with management expectations. | trt

19/2/2019 07:56 | Not good owenski have followed for some time and posted things wold deteriorate. | debsdowner
19/2/2019 07:34 | I thought update was ok in the circumstances | salver2
19/2/2019 07:31 | I don't think any of that is an issue as it's known. What's more bothersome is their talk about licensing income being off off. Sounds like a slightly covert profit warning but I haven't seen forecasts so maybe also expected? | dan_the_epic
19/2/2019 07:29 | Rating is already low, looks like the bad news is already baked into the SP, not worth buying a business with 'challenging' as an outlook though. | owenski
19/2/2019 07:17 | As the Company commences its new financial year our core market in the UK remains both challenging and uncertain and the trend in Brand product sales remains unchanged. The focus of the Company is to seek to mitigate some of the impact of this difficult trading environment through cost saving initiatives. NASTAY! | onjohn
19/2/2019 07:17 | Not a good update, will it be top up time yet again for Daisy, lol | owenski
07/2/2019 13:53 | The September Wm Morris design deal with H&M got a mixed reception on this board. The range is up and running and on the Spanish website (at least) here: Some items are at a reduced price - perhaps this reflects slow movers - but a large range and to my eye, quite attractive too. It is frustrating that we have no clue as to the commercial deal terms, of course. But other fashion houses are sure to be aware of the range. | cliffpeat
