Green product saving circa 5%-10% of electricity bills per year coming to market at the right time. If they can get it to market for £100 and then get that subsidised by the GOV and utilities then this will fly IMO. not in at the moment but watching.........

Not much comment for a few months. Just started trials: price mooted at 200 quid: no doubt plus installation costs.Looks like a 4 to 5 year payback for your average householder. Quite a hard sell will be required unless Gov subsidises it.Even so current mkt cap of 45million might well turn out to be justified in todays green climate. However a co. called Cinpart has just acquired 65% of a similar but established & proven product called Voltagemaster aimed at the commercial market, claiming a 1 to 2 year payback. The current mkt cap at 3p per share is 2 million! It's obviously sensible to take some profits in V-phase & put them into Cinpart.

JOIN "KILL THE SPREAD" CAMPAIGN FOR A MORE EFFICIENT AIM SMALL CAP MARKET WITH DIRECT MARKET ACCESS.

Over One thousand people have signed our on-line petition and voted in the Poll!!
If you haven't yet done so join us now!!!

Here is what the Fleet Street Letter says about the Campaign!

If you want tighter spreads on small cap AIM stocks and Direct Market Access, and small cap auctions - then join the campaign!

To be presented to the CEO of the LSE Clara Furse.
The campaign is gaining momentum and the press are now picking up on it.....

Market makers should not be traders as well as there is a clear conflict of interests.

Someone took 20p for 135k GEM when the bid was 26p - over a barrel with Market Makers the only game in town.

On 10th September 450k SOLG sold at 1p when the bid was 3p. Same stock sold back into the market over next few days for 2.5p-3p

Market Maker system leaves a lot to be desired. This isn't "making an orderly market", it is profiteering.

and please spread the word!

VPhase plc to launch its first energy saving product

VPhase plc (AIM: VPHA), a leading developer of energy saving products for home and small commercial applications based upon voltage management, will launch its first commercial energy saving product, VX1, at Interbuild 2008, the UK's largest building industry exhibition, in October this year. VX1 is the result of continuing research and development undertaken at VPhase's Capenhurst site and this launch will be the Company's first commercial product from a range of energy saving devices based on the Company's growing intellectual property. The Company has already secured its supply chain for volume production and supply of this first product.

VX1 is a low-cost voltage reduction and regulation system that testing has shown can reduce the energy consumption of many household appliances by 5%–18% whilst delivering an equivalent reduction in CO2 emissions. In the UK the nominal incoming voltage to properties is set to 230 volts; however, the actual level of voltage delivered can legally vary between 207 volts and 253 volts. Most electrical products in the UK are designed to operate at the lower level and for many appliances any excess voltage does not necessarily give additional performance; rather, the surplus energy is wasted as heat. VX1 is designed to stabilise the voltage in homes or offices to a lower level and when fitted to the fuse box ('consumer unit') in an average UK could result in a substantial reduction in electricity usage and a corresponding 10% reduction in electricity bills.

In the last few weeks the average joint gas and electricity bill has risen by more than £200 a year (£4 a week) to £1,211, with the electricity component increasing to almost £500. Since 2003, gas prices have increased cumulatively by more than 130% and electricity prices by more than 94% and industry experts suggest that prices may be forced to rise again in January. The installation of a VPhase VX1 device could offset a significant proportion of these price increases. Based on average domestic UK electricity usage and a 10% reduction in electricity bills, by using the VPhase VX1 product UK consumers could see more than £50 per annum saving – achieving payback within approximately two to three years, along with the corresponding environmental benefits. However, with increasing energy costs, and for those homes with a higher than average electricity bill, that saving could be much higher and the payback period even shorter.

Route to Market

VPhase will focus on selling this first VX1 product through multiple channels including consumer unit manufacturers and via partnerships with utilities, house builders and housing associations. In the UK alone approximately 1.4 million consumer units are sold annually and the Company estimates that the EU market equates to approximately 7 million consumer units per annum. UK uptake of energy saving products, like VPhase's VX1, is encouraged by the Government's Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) scheme. This is expected to stimulate approximately £2.8 billion of investment in carbon reduction measures, mainly via subsidies, in the period from 2008 to 2011. The Company is currently in discussions with a number of utilities to carry out independent testing of the VX1 product, with the intention of determining its suitability for the scheme.

Announcement of the new product saw a further climb in the Company's share price, and inbound enquiries from trade partners. Given ever-escalating concerns about energy price and security, investor interest in VPhase is expected to remain strong.

Nicely timed press release to coincide with the just announced increases in electricity costs from centrica etc. Wonder if they'll give free kits away to shareholders?? :)

w1ck - that single quick glimpse of a unit marked "Vphase" is the only time any of us have ever seen anything from the company, their website is hopeless. Have a look back at my earlier post where it seems that units claiming exactly the same savings as VPHA are on sale for £40 or so. Not very unique IMO.

Cyberbub, I believe the EPS device you link to works by correcting the power factor (getting the voltage and current in phase), and it's not clear that this offers any advantage in a residential situation, although industrial users benefit if they use large electric motors.

On the other hand I believe the Vphase device works by reducing the voltage supplied to the house - most residential devices are quite happy on a lower voltage, say 220v, whereas the mains voltage is often 240v+. As we pay by the amount of power we use, and as power = voltage x current (put simply), and as current is reduced if voltage is reduced, then it can be seen that reducing voltage reduces the power used considerably. The key point is that residential devices are happy to work on 220v (look at the label on a device) and we have a 240v system.

cyberbub - I'm no electrician but they appear to operate on similar principles. However, would need someone much more qualified than me to confirm this. As I've said before this appears to be a very 'simple' technology and one that I understand VPHA holds no IP over (though I may be wrong on this) i.e. others are/could be doing the same or similar

I beleive that it can't fall too far unless there is bad news - the reason being that not a lot of people have stock to sell - so the only place it can go is up when that stock is bought up - unless of course there is bad news.
