glawsiain if you look through the small number of posts this year you can see some of the brokers that do allow buying. I can vouch for Barclays, IG and HL. I don't think the company can do anything about it as in any case a broker is under no obligation to deal in any company or instrument if they choose not to.

thanks hpcg. Does that mean other companies are affected? Its still in volvere's interest to put pressure on that broker group, I'd have thought.

It's nothing to do with the company; they are clearly not a PRIIP so they aren't going to do anything. It is entirely down to the one broker group that has such a safety first interpretation on the regs as to be absurd.

I checked this morning and cannot buy volvere via IWeb. Anyone had any success/progress here?

I had a reply from the FCA but it doesn't answer my questions...it just talks about whether a broker can choose which securities he offers.
Anyone else got anywhere?

I'm looking forward to seeing the impact of the training contract on the H2 results. IAL was performing admirably prior to the contract announcement and with the Landers working their magic, it could be a real winner.

I've already held VLE for what feels like forever and reckon holding for as many forevers as the VLE team do (before they cash in their chips) is probably a good idea.

Run your winners.
Back great management.

When I started out I used to look at a stock which I had gained on and work out if it was fully valued, if it was I would then have sold

But that was stupid and I lost out big time form trends that carried on and which I missed

I don’t make that mistake anymore

I don’t care if one of my stocks has become 10 times overvalued

That stock will only get sold when the trend reverses by at least 20% of my total percentage gain

I only think about valuation when I am buying

The market decides when I do any selliing

Unless of course the stock in question is still significantly undervalued

In which case I do not sell, In that case I add to my position

Obviously you would adjust your exit point if the stock continued its uptrend

If your gain became 200%, you could adjust your exit point to say 160%

You have to ride those trends when they arrive for as long as possible

Only a few shares in your portfolio will produce those big trends and they will make all the difference to your overall performance

I like your figures Eezy. VLE has been a fantastic share for me - what are people's selling price or is it as simple as buy n hold forever type?

It's a nice rerate, no? So I've run through my numbers for H2 possibilities

I reckon Shire might do £1m pbt/interco charges (currencies more stable, usual stronger H2 etc).

Impetus might do £1.7m pbt/interco charges

So those two perhaps £2.7m in H2

Add to H1 (Shire £-.25 and Impetus £1.5) + £1.25m
Gives about £4m for the year

Take off c. 20% as we part own those biz's
Gives us £3.2m

Take off central/listing costs etc of c. £1m
Gives us £2.2m

Tax at 20% gives us PAT c. £1.8m

Reckon we could add a bit for investment performance (£0.4m) but I'll leave it out as we can only have a compete stab

last b/s June £20.5m cash
take off £3.4m buyback gives £17.1m
add H2 cash profit £1.5m gives £18.6m

SP Shares
9.4 3,668,363

Mcap 34.4826122

Premium to cash 15.9m
Premium to tbv (25m) 9.5m

So current market cap values VLE (net of cash) at about 8.5 x this year's (my) forecast and values VLE (net of current tangible book value) at about 5.2x

Which still makes it stupidly cheap IMO. Oh and you get get a stake in a company with a great management team that have turned water into wine for almost 20 years.

Things might go wrong of course!

It seems to be only Lloyds banking group entities. Even Barclays will allow buys, and they are about as bad as it gets nowadays.

Also worth talking to the FCA perhaps, since brokers seem to be passing the buck to them
